Works with HP 640 G2, Wider Than Expected Viewing Angle
Updated Review (4 of 5 stars):Akamai reached out to me and offered to refund my purchase. Their customer service has been pretty excellent, and therefore I have updated this to a 4 of 5 star (from 3 of 5 star). I've found that lowering my brightness has been a *somewhat* effective to manage the wider viewing angle issue I mentioned in my original review, but the privacy screen already decreases the effective screen brightness (the material has a darker tint to it - purposefully done to help do it's job of making it more difficult for others to see) so I try to keep my brightness higher to reduce eye strain. I will say I have been satisfied to the point of not actively seeking another privacy screen, so I would say this is a good - yet not great - privacy screen.Original Review (3 of 5 stars):Product fits my HP 640 G2 perfectly. I purchased this for travel purposes to be able to work on airplanes/trains and maintain privacy. The viewing angle with the screen is wider than what I expected, and I know that someone sitting next to me on an airplane could see some of the content of my screen as I asked someone next to me with the privacy screen in use.The installation process I used is a little strange in that you use clear plastic strips with adhesive to stick to the outer rim of the laptop to hold the screen in place, but it mostly gets the job done. Lastly, while there are two separate ways to install the screen, I was only sent the correct materials to do one of the installations methods. The other method uses clear plastic squares/rectangles with adhesive to stick to the screen itself, but my package did not come with these clear plastic pieces.

I had never had such a good support before
I had recently bought this product for my 14 inch Dell laptop.I followed the instructions as written (chose option B for installation) but as soon as I attached the filter to the screen I got bubbles on the filter (similarly when you don’t place a screen protector well on your cellphone).I contacted support and they asked some clarifying questions on how I applied the filter. They immediately offered to send me a replacement. I told them that I would be at my current hotel for only a few more days and asked that they ship the replacement so that it would arrive at my hotel before I left. The complied and indeed I received the replacement on time. Finally, I requested additional instructions fearing the same behavior would reappear. So they first tested it on their laptop and let me know that it works for them. Then they gave me precise instructions which I followed to the letter. On the replacement it worked as advertised.I am giving this a five stars for an extraordinary customer service experience. I had never had such a good support before. The filter itself is great and does the job very well.Highly recommend!UPDATE (Feb 2nd, 2018):I would like to update that now that I have used it for a few weeks I can say that when you touch the filter it may get attached to the screen creating these sort of bubbles. The workaround is to take the filter off and reattach it. It's isn't that convenient and can become a real nuisance. Also you may want to refrain from touching the filter while attached to the laptop's screen. Having said that however, the filter itself is of very good quality and does prevent others from seeing your screen.I lowered the overall score to 4 stars.

Honest Opinion; use for business trips - airplane
I needed this for my business trips so that people sitting next to me on economy class in the tightly ever so airplane wouldn't see my screen. (I'm not that important or make enough to sit in business class but that is besides the point).I give 3 of 5 for the following reason 1) It kinda works (-2 star), the screen dims (key point here for my lower score) and makes it harder for the people who takes a view at your screen from the sides (left and right view angle dims; doesn't dim up an down). However...if your screen has high brightness you could still see the information on my screen from the sides and not 100% blocked. I had to play around with my brightness setting to a level which I felt comfortable enough to protect against nosy person or corporate espionage who are sitting next to me, if your behind me your in luck! Peak a way!Comment:Pay a bit more if your going long term and for full privacy get the reflective one instead of just dimming so you do not have to adjust brightness setting on your screen. 2) I wish I knew I needed a squidgy to remove the bubbles of my screen holder that I stuck to the laptop; Pet Peeve, Slightly annoying to see (0 star) 3) Cost (0 star); For 30-40 dollars, you should get two screens. In my personal opinion if you can find a deal for around 20 dollars or less it would be worth it. Maybe cheaper aftermarket knockoffs would be better instead of a brand name ones for personal use. 4) +1 Easy installation, no complaint (just break the holder in half and stick it... you'll see) 5) +1 Durable, Don't test it and scratch it with knife, of course it'll scratch. Its durable and I plan to stick it on my laptop for a while. Laptops only last 3-5 years anyway.Hope that helps

Not for touch screens
Provides decent visual blocking, especially when the brightness of my monitor is turned down.I have a Lenovo T450 with a touch screen and while the privacy screen is the right size I had a hard time attaching it. I wanted to attach in a way that would be removable as I'm very often working next to someone who needs to be able to see my screen. Unfortunately, the touch screen aspect of my laptop makes the monitor completely flat so there is no inset part of the screen where this privacy screen might normally fit. Because of this, I wasn't able to use the hard plastic tabs that come with it to create the sleeve-like effect that would have made the screen easily removable.Instead, I'm forced to use the stickies provided which essentially amount to double-sided tape like you might use to attach a photo to a photo album. The tape does ok, but again, the lack of lip around my monitor makes it difficult to get this privacy screen perfectly lined up. Unfortunately, this particular privacy screen is EXACTLY the right size for the monitor on my laptop, down to the millimeter, so if it isn't perfectly lined up part of your screen is visible. I ended up using the harder plastic tabs (normally for other purposes) to create a bit of a border along the bottom of my monitor so I have a base to set the privacy screen on when I'm trying to get it lined up.As for removing and replacing it so I can work with my co-workers.... the stickies do ok... Eventually, they get covered in dirt, but putting some water on them and rubbing the dirt off with my finger seems to restore their stickiness. If I had to buy a new one I'd search for something more suited to touch screens.Edit: After posting this review I was contacted by Evan, founder of Akamai Products, who issued me a complete refund for my purchase.
