Best sun oven on the market
The All American sun oven is absolutely the best built sun oven on the market today, made in the USA with quality components that will provide years of trouble free use.I enjoy cooking in my sun oven, I think of it as my outdoor crock pot, place the food in the oven in the morning and make some adjustments to ensure I am getting the perfect sun alignment through out the day and after a few hours the food comes out perfectly cooked. During the summer months I especially enjoy cooking roasts and chicken dishes without heating up the house. Before the I bought the All American Sun Oven I rarely fired up the oven during summer months and relied on the Weber grill. The Weber grill produces great food but requires a careful eye to keep from burning and drying out the food, the sun oven never over cooks the food and takes less tending and the fuel is free ! The sun oven is also works well in the winter as long as you have some sun and can see a shadow you can cook in the sun oven.Great investment that pays for itself in fuel savings and fun to use.

Best product of its kind out there
I am pleased with this product. I have been researching solar ovens for a few months, and settled on the American Sun Oven from this seller. Important to note: Although the photo shows loaf pans, and the description says it includes loaf pans, it actually includes a roaster pan with interior rack instead of the loaf pans, along with the included multi-rack set, parchment paper and double pot set, water pasteurization tool, and a Cook'n CD with recipes. I was happy with this substitution. My oven arrived two days sooner than Amazon predicted, and I was happy with that too.About the oven itself: It seems sturdy and well made. I live in the southwest high desert, and set it outside (on a cold day in April) - and within 10 minutes the temperature was already 150 F. The leg on the back of the oven to raise or lower the oven, make positioning it most towards the sun fairly easy. The interior leveling rack makes it so the food is always level in the oven and doesn't spill. It can get really windy where I live, and the oven includes two stakes that anchor that back leg into the ground to help stabilize the oven. I would say the oven gets to about 350 F predictably on a mostly sunny day. It cooks anything that would normally go in the regular oven at that temperature. I am also happy to have the water pasteurization tool for emergency preparedness.I am excited to be able to cook food without heating up the house, or needing a ton of attention. I also like the idea of using as much free power as I can (the sun).

Sadly, not great
Pros: received item almost 2 weeks before amazon said it was going to be shipped.Cons: 1. The solar oven received is not the one pictured. 2. The reflectors arrived bent and we can’t bend them to make them flat. 3. The oven door does not latch to make an air tight seal no matter how tight you make it as the gray gasket is not even around the oven. 4. And most annoyingly when you use the self- leveling tray provided and the cookware provided the pan slides on the tray!!! So the chicken that I cooked for 6 hours today in an oven that was in full sun and centered that only reached 250 like 3x throughout the sunny summer day we had , actually fell over in the oven twice . And now there is juices all through the insides. It never reached 300 let alone 350-400. I’m at 40.5 on map. This should have at least reached 300 but it didn’t. With all the problems and the trays actually making the items slip is so frustrating for a $350 item. I will be contacting the company. After 6 hours I checked temp of chicken and it was 170 so at least I didn’t lose the meal, a crazy amount of work repositioning to have it be spilled everywhere from a poorly designed tray that doesn’t prevent their own cooking utensils from sliding off of it. This was on even concrete as well. Now I have to question if it is going to rot in the insides because the oven lining is not solid piece there are seams that the chicken juices went into to. And I didn’t add any water or liquid it was just a raw chicken with spices and butter on it. So is it worth 350? I would say : emphatically no. Such a shame as I was very excited about this item. Oh also it is so poorly designed for actual use as far as needing to open the pre-heated oven and put food in. You have to hold the hot door open at the same time while using both hands to put in the pot that is currently sliding on the tray when you do it. Just absurdly made.
