Good Cook Classic Stainless Steel Peeler

This was going to replace a +20yo peeler but the +20yo still outperformed this new one. I love the style and the feel but it just gouges chunks. You have to really push it into the flesh too and I've only used it on potatoes. My +20yo still skims across the surface taking peel off like a razor blade (with a few nicks).I had a good look at the different blades. My old one is ground almost flat across both edges. This one is ground at more of an 30-45 degree angle.This doesn't peel. It chunks.

this peeler is a bit different from the ones I have had before, the handle is not solid but a bit bendy and I think it's going to be a great help to me. My hand gets cramps when I use the ones that are the hard metal kind. and a plus in my book is that it is red...I colors in my kitchen are red and black, :)

Had a peeler for 25 years and was fantastic until the stainless steel shaft came apart..Went to a lot of stores to find a good peeler. All the fancy peelers cant peel worth a C*** (Bought numerous peelers)I ordered 2 from Amazon made in Switzerland and both were fantastic. Order 2 peelers (Good Cook) for my daughters in law and they love them.

So why only 4 stars? I don't know, I keep hoping for better, but so far I haven't found better, and I have tried half a dozen models of vegetable peeler from Amazon and an equal number from other sources. I peel cucumbers, apples, potatoes regularly and occasionally other fruits or vegetables. Even though this peeler stays sharp a long time, what could make a peeler even better would be the ability to sharpen it. Eventually (after several years of use) it does dull; but sometimes I would like a super-sharp peeler, even sharper than this one. I like the feel, the shape and the weight of it, and the ease of use and ease of cleaning. I clean it with a brush.

had one of these for years.....it broke.....tried several other brands and threw them away NOW have the good one back and bought a spare
