It Lives Up to the Hype!
Read a few reviews here on Amazon as well as on Crutchfield.com regarding this headunit and used those as the basis of my purchase decision. Item was received quickly from CarAudioCloseout. I installed it in my vehicle (2012 Honda Accord LX w/o dual climate control) using the Scosche dash Kit (dark atlas gray) and the CRUX SWRHN-62L harness to retain my factory steering wheel controls. It was a tough process for my particular vehicle(took me over an hour) but once it was in, it worked flawlessly.Unit is very minimal in appearance and really looks like it came with the vehicle. Display is clear and the sharpest i have seen on any aftermarket headunit. Been to best buy and many local sound shops and seen higher end headunits with fuzzy displays, but this unit from JVC (along with its sibling the 830BT) offer the best value for the money. It boots very quickly, and the interface is clean and not laggy at all(something i have seen on many pioneers and alpine units). Apple carplay works fine with no issues on my iPhone 7 Plus. As advertised by the manufacturer this headunit allows both my phone and my wife's to be connected at the same time with each device having its own unique profile. Switching between Apple Carplay and the standard JVC interface is smooth and painless. The unit pairs automatically with my iPhone 7 plus every time i enter my vehicle without needing to mess with it at all. For those looking to see a live demo of this unit, Best Buy is actually starting to stock them now, so check your local store. Prices here on amazon are good as well(don't pay $499.00 on Crutchfield's website). In terms of sound quality, the unit really boosted the sound in my vehicle's stock speakers. They really came alive after replacing my factory radio with this JVC unit, so much so to the point that i no longer feel the need to upgrade my stock speakers! Pandora and Spotify remote controls work great from the apps themselves. JVC also offers its own app to control the radio and to change a few settings. This unit does NOT play CDs or DVDs so you will need to get its sibling the 830BT instead. Two USB ouputs are used on this unit: one for apple carplay and android auto, and the other for a usb flash drive to add media.

Great for the money. Awesome product!
Great radio for the price! One downside is that in order to use applecarplay for any newer iPhone, you have to plug it into the included usb port. The mic works great in my Jeep even while driving at highway speed. And that’s with a soft top. The interface is solid and programming stations is as easy as stock. For the money, this radio is a steal. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone!

A very nice ACP and AA head unit for the price
A very nice ACP and AA head unit for the price! I installed this in my 2011 F-150, with the iData link wiring harness (to retain steering wheel controls and the top dash display), and the Sirius satellite radio aftermarket kit. The head unit does require some setup to customize features. I would suggest reading the instruction manual. One of the best features is that the home screen and the apps screen are customizable, so you can drag and drop your most frequently used icons to the first page. The user interface is so much more intuitive that other systems by Kenwood and Pioneer. Plus, those other systems cost quite a bit more.Response time is fantastic, the system is faster than the OEM systems in my newer vehicles. I have used Apple Car Play extensively, and it works great. What a joy to have that in my truck now. I have not used the Android Auto yet.I will also swear that my radio sounds so much better with my stock speakers. The sound is so much richer and has better stereo separation. I'm sure this is because of the extensive sound customization that is available with this unit. Now, some bad things. I updated the firmware on my unit after having it for about a month. Shortly after, it started to randomly reboot while I was driving, and after I shut off the ignition. Once, it totally quit, and told me I had to restart the car to get it working again. I was fuming! Then, I read the firmware instructions a bit more closely, and it said I had to reset the radio after the firmware update, but it never pointed me to how to do that. I found an "Initialize" button way down in the menu structure. Of course, that erased all my settings, but the radio then functioned fine. It has rebooted only one time since, but I might have found the pattern. The radio has only rebooted when I am listening to satellite radio, and when there is a Sirius update that is sent to my unit. I know this because I have Sirius in my other vehicles, so I know when an update is coming. I have found that when I turn off my truck, I return the radio to "tuner" instead of leaving it on "satellite." Then, the next time I drive it, I leave it on "tuner" for about two miles before returning it to "satellite." This seems to have done the trick (I am keeping my fingers crossed).Minus the rebooting issue, this is really a great receiver. I am hoping a future firmware update will solve that issue.

It's all about the bluetooth codecs
Everyone knows what bluetooth is, but did you know modern bluetooth uses more advanced audio codecs? These newer audio codecs can potentially deliver better sound quality compared to the older standard codec (SBC). Important for me because I primarily use this for bluetooth audio connection to my phone. If you plan to do the same thing this receiver is a great choice. It streams bluetooth in the AAC format. So if you have a smartphone capable of streaming bluetooth in the AAC format, plus this receiver you'll have an unbroken chain of great sound quality. My music sounds incredible, I can not distinguish between wire connected, and bluetooth audio. In addition I never drop the bluetooth connection. All that plus it's priced well when you consider it's feature set, which includes android auto/apple carplay. Can't go wrong with this one. Here's what I have:Nexus 6P, Android 8.1 smartphone (Beginning with android 8.x Oreo, users have the ability to choose their bluetooth codec. Including AAC.)KW-M730BT (capable of streaming bluetooth in AAC)Further thought:Although I didn't care about the feature at first, the audio call quality over bluetooth is amazing. It's far far superior to the call quality on my PowerBeat3 headphones. I've received many compliments on how well I sound in comparison to my headset.

The perfect head unit with Carplay.
Just installed this unit in my 2013 Kia Rio Hatchback. I actually replaced my Kenwood DNX571EX (Garmin) Navigation unit with this one. I didn't care for the Garmin and costly map updates and the user interface which was simply ugly and cumbersome when you're on the road. I wanted full CarPlay and the JVC is PERFECT for that.Pretty simple to install. Note that you'll need a iDatalink Maestro if you want to still keep your steering wheel controls and that you have the right wiring harness to go from your stock to the new radio. I also hooked up my SiriusXM module (SVX300) and my iPhone SE. Everything works BEAUTIFULLY. It'll take a day or so go get used to where everything is and how to set various radio / satellite channels up.Carplay overall is very responsible, paring it to my iPhone was quick and easy.

Good aftermarket option for those wanting Android Auto
Bought this after researching the market for a decent stereo with Android auto, to replace my woeful standard stereo and hands free kit. Thiis came out better than most, and was better priced than the Sony and Alpine models, and had better form than the Kenwood ones.Fitting was a doddle (I've been fitting these things for years), the interface is easy to use, with plenty of features, and includes a new microphone, GPS antenna, and all the cables required (except a phone specific one) I specifically bought all the Alfa specific interfaces and fitting kit, and coupled it with a reversing camera from eBay.Well pleased with the results

Android auto works great
Add it to my sprinter.Android Auto works great with the v.1.4 of the firmwares. So if you have v1.3 , like I had. You need to upgrade.Download the files at the JVC website and put it on a USB key. Put the USB key in the radio and press the button YES.That's simple as that.

Brilliant.
Absolutely love it! Spent a lot of time shopping around and was a bit apriehensive because of the no DAB, where you could get one with all the same and DAB for a similar price. However i went with this one becausr on the size of the screen which is very noticeable compare to smaller ones. The picture is great and the android auto works flawlessly.I had it professionally installed in Uplands Car Radio in Cardiff who did a great job.The only thing for me is on a very sunny day the glare is noticeable but I don't believe as bad as some have said.
