Everyone Will Rest in Pieces! This classically 1980s-styled horror anthology finds a police detective investigating several bloody, mysterious deaths, which all took place on Halloween night. His search leads him to the local mortician, who then tells him the bizarre backstories of three of the victims, with each tale more gruesome and insane than the next, until the lines between reality and fiction begin to blur.

A blast! (To the HEAD)
Mortuary Massacre is an awesome new entry in the hallowed halls of horror anthologies. We open with a grizzled detective named Det. Giger who hears about some strange corpses piling up in an L.A. morgue run by a creepy dude played by the infamous Carl Crew (of Blood Diner fame). Giger is shown various mutilated corpses and treated to bizarre stories about how each one of them came to be in the morgue. If I had to pick a favorite short it would be "The Apartment", but best creature design goes to Snake-eyed Jack in, you guessed it, "Snake-eyed Jack." Oh, and the twist ending of the wrap-around story is a great treat and leaves you wanting more blood. This flick is fun, fast paced, and pulpy in the best way. There's a transgressive, almost experimental, feeling to some of the proceedings that brings to mind the films of David Lynch, Nick Zedd, and others of their ilk.Point is: Mortuary Massacre is super fun and Chris J. Miller is an insane director who needs to be watched!

Do you have any other faces?
This is a connected anthology. The film is in part an homage film with the Romero-King Funeral Home and "The Stuff" in the refrigerator. The film is done deliberately as grainy with bad sound, even the funeral home which should have been shot normally. The film had some bad gore effects. It has attempts at humor which fail. The DVD includes another film and two shorts, none of which I would recommend unless you loved the main feature. They are short and equally as bad with the same bad acting, plot, and not knowing how to create homage humor.Guide: F-word. Nudity (Jamie Katonic + others )

Almost as fun as getting dental surgery
The plot synopsis explains it pretty well. The mortician fills in the detective on how each of three decedents ended up brutally killed. Every bit of dialogue is delivered with all the effort of a middle school stage play. The gore is meant to be over the top but none of it is very exciting or satisfying because none of the characters are engaging. I couldn't even remember anyone's name. The audio sounds like torture. The music is subpar and the dialogue sounds like it was filtered through a tin can. There's a video editing filter added to make the film look like it's old and grainy but I've seen YouTube videos with more effort put in.It tries to be "so bad it's good" but ends up falling flat. The only amusing thing in the movie is the opening trailer (included as a short on the DVD) which works as a gory old school 70s massacre flick.Don't waste your time on this one. There are better grindhouse movies out there.

A $5,000 budget movie, so hold the hate!
Many of you can speak poorly about this movie, but what you need to know is that this is a full feature length film made completely on a $5,000 budget. You can't even make a decent music video on a $5,000 budget. So before you judge, keep that bit of information in mind, and try to loosen up a little and have some fun. The acting is SUPPOSED to be of poor quality, as is the gore and special effects/graininess. It's an artistic homage to 1980s style films, similar to the genre of David Lynch.
