The item came with no instructions, though looking at the picture one can see how it is to be assembled. Still,1) Arranging the shades to align perfectly is very difficult. I can see slight misalignment from the side.2) The bottom glass pieces tend to droop. I can cut pieces of plexiglass to keep them horizontal, but otherwise you have problem. You don't want to tighten these too much either, or they may crack.3) The lights will hang perfectly if all four cables are adjusted to exactly same length, which is hard to see till you actually hang it. and then you have to remove it to adjust them. The cables are hanging from self-locking clamps where you should be able to push the cables up from outside, but the space above is too congested to do that.4) because the lights are asymmetric, you may want to align them to some wall. However, even a small error in attaching the mounting plate to the box will cause the error to get amplified in the whole fixture. I suppose this could be problem with most asymmetric chandeliers.5) The wire supplied with it looks good, but seems inadequate to handle four bulbs.6) Finally the question is whether the plastic shades will stay horizontal, over time, this close to bulb. They are attached only from one side. Only time will tell.Bottom line is: If you can assemble and install it perfectly it will look great. But attempt that only if you have experience and patience of doing thing like this.PS: after two years, plastic shades are still good, so increasing the rating..

The light is actually a 4.5 star item but I can only rate this item 3 stars because of the terrible lack of instructions. All that is provided is a 1/2 page sheet in Chinese. I am a pretty handy guy but the diagram is really lacking. For instance, it doesn't show how to wire the lights - 3 wing nuts are provided which seems to indicate that you should wire the 4 lights in series but I really didn't want one bad bulb to shut off the entire fixture. So I wired it in parallel. I really had play around with the suspension strings to get this unit level and the adjustment mechanism works great but I had to reverse engineer it since I don't read Chinese and am unsure if the instructions even included that detail. Bottom line: if you are handy with this type of thing you can get it to work and it is a decent fixture but it is not as simple as other fixtures I have purchased. I have probably installed ~25 light fixtures so I am pretty familiar with the process but this one had the absolutely worst documentation. Note: It says it is for 220-250V but it does work at 120V.

This light is super cool looking but was a little tricky to put up. You have to adjust the heights of the lights individually by adjusting their thin wire hanging cords. You're doing this while holding it up to make sure they hand evenly, or level. The only other problem we had was that the hole in the ceiling, from the previous lighting fixture, is cut out to fit a round junction box. Unfortunately the rectangular base of the light isn't as wide, so you can see the junction box. We looked at putting a Medallion up to cover the hole but none are big enough to have the base fit on them. Check under your existing lighting base to make sure you won't have the same issue. We solved our problem by having a larger silver base made to fit under it and it looks great!! We've gotten many compliments on it.

I like this light because of its unique design. However, there are a lot things to improve. First, be ready to hassle with assembly. The instructions are very poor. To make things worse, those instructions are in Chinese, But the problem is not the language. We requested instructions in English and what we got was just an English version of same very poor instructions (can not rely on them at all, it is just like there no instructions). The second problem is the ceiling plate that connect to the box. this plate is not wide enough to cover the whole junction box. So after mounting the light, I have holes on each side. Which means that you will have to find a way to patch them. The other problem is that some of the fixtures are not quite straight in horizontal plane. But some people may not notice this problem, however if you pay a close attention you can see it.

The light fixture looks great, now that it is installed. The piece that connects to the electrical box in the ceiling is 3 inches wide. The standard electrical box is 4 inches, creating a hole in our ceiling. Luckily, my fiance' is a problem solver and handy, so he cut a piece of wood and stained the color of our woodwork to mount between the ceiling and the 3 inch fixture. Now it looks great! Picture is exactly what the product looks like, just make sure you have a 3 inch electrical box or a handy future husband.

We have received so many compliments after installing this chandelier in our dining room. It was a little bit tricky to install. To keep our hands free, we placed the box it came in underneath it and rested the light on the box while installing. Leveling it was also tricky, but we did it. If you are not handy, I suggest finding a friend or an electrician to hang it for you. It is a beautiful, modern light.

Item does not come with center power cord and brackets for mounting. I have to purchase them separately. Pictures are not consistent with items received.

Sorry but this was a SAD item. It's actually very small and fairly cheap looking. I was so excited to get the chandelier and soooo disappointed when installed.
