Not too heavy but gets heavier with longer use :). I'm 5'4", female in mid 70's. I find the trimmer is a little long when I'm in tighter spaces. If you do a lot of edge trimming I would recommend going with the multi head trimmer with the wheeled edger rather than this model. I use either a 5.0 or 4.0 battery. Charge holds ok but if using for heaver edge trimming I end up using both batteries.
