Mr. Burns and Other Plays

Modern theatre
Suggested by my recently graduated drama-major niece. You like modern theatre and pop culture? As to the title story, imagine what happen when the lights go out permanently and all that's left are our memories of that culture/pop culture ... and other leftovers of the modern world.

Unreadable
I read a ton of plays; I've probably read one a day for the past three years. I read Shakespeare and Beckett and Sophocles without too much difficulty, but let me tell you: Anne Washburn's plays are confusing to the point of illegibility. Perhaps it has something to do with the way that she writes dialogue, but on paper her plays read as absolutely incomprehensible.

Brilliant, oddball American playwright
Anne Washburn is an irreverent, endlessly resourceful oddball genius, and I love her plays. She's the American equivalent to Caryl Churchill. Mr. Burns in particular is a brilliant examination of storytelling, popular culture and how civilizations regenerate. I loved it.

DO NOT BUY THIS.....NEVER AGAIN
This is the worst thing you have ever made. It is not a good idea to read. The grammar... It sucks so much you would have to be able to read a different language
