Ansso Battery Adapter Mount Plate Power Supply NP-F970 to NP-FW50 for Sony α7R A5100

I absolutely adore this product. This is hands down the greatest accessory you can buy for your NP-FW50 powered cameras. As you know, the NP-FW50 is such a poor source of power when it comes to how long it lasts. I’ve got six of those batteries for my A7s, a7II, and a7rII. And it’s annoyingly to have to carry them all and be concerned they will go out in the middle of a shoot. Sometimes I shoot long performances and you just can’t stop rolling to change a battery mid-performance. I stumbled upon this after extensive searching of alternate battery solutions. While there are others available, this was not only the least expensive, but used the awesome Sony NP batteries that I had from my old camcorders. Those batteries are tanks and last forever. So I was excited to check this power solution out.Let me tell you, since 2017, this system has been a god send. It’s been reliable, and even my power hungry a7rII rig with Sony 28-135 power zoom lens won’t drain a single NP970 after a full day of shooting. The battery is a little more than have full. And this is with continuous AF and power zooming constantly.I can’t say enough good things about this solution.I know blind spot now has a similar solution, but for more than twice the price with their adapter, it is less desirable unless of you need all the other capabilities it offers. I simply needed a solution to convert Sony NP batteries for the NP-FW50 enabled cameras, nothing more.If you hate the NP-FW50 like I do, get this now. You will love it.NOTE: it works best with a cage as you can see in my photos. Otherwise you’ll need to find a way to mount it to your camera if mounting it to the bottom Tripod mount won’t work for you.

The battery life on the Sony A6400 sucks. Instead of upgrading to a 6600 for around $300-$500 more this little battery adapter allows me to use F970/50 batteries that I already had. With a F970 I can get 8-10 hours of battery life while recording 4k which is amazing. More than 6x the battery life. I have multiple ways to mount the battery plate; either on the side of my smallrig cage like a handle sticking off to the side or using a small cheese plate that's rail mounted behind my A6400's swivel screen.

Sometimes during conferences and long corporate shoots, I need my A7S as a third camera. When there is no shore power available, having to switch batteries every hour is very frustrating.This allows me to use the Huge NPF batters with the A7S and the camera will run all day. It screws to the camera cage easily and works like a charm. The dummy battery fits great and the camera never shuts off even when I try to wiggle it around and see if it isn't a solid connection.Great product.

Great battery plate, much nicer quality than some of the other cheapo battery plates I've used. I'm not super thrilled that the dummy battery is hard wired to the plate, I would have preferred to just have another DC jack, but it's not a big deal since it does have one additional DC jack. I may just chop off the wire and use the DC jack only.

It Didn't work! Short Circuited my 3 NP-FP70 Batteries. Now I can't use them for tomorrow's shoot. What a disappointment. At first, I tested it out with one battery. It ddn't work. Then I thought it was the batteries problem. Until I tested 3 of my NP-FP70. It still ddnt worked. I tried my 3 batteries on my torch LED light, it did work. Then I tried my last NP-FP70 to my Torch LEd light, it worked. By then I realized this device has destroyed my 3 other NP-FP70 batteries. I will return this device and I also need the company to pay for my 3 unsuable NP-FP70. This is bad.

Works great on my Sony a6400. With the large npf battery 970 my camera runs for hours. I am definitely buying more of these adapters for my other cameras.

want to use this for my gimbal with sony a 6500 , changing battery by removing camera is a pain , this solve the problem just remove the battery.

This item is great :) I use it on my gimbal to power the Sony A6500. Instead of keeping the battery in camera and remove from the gimbal to replace. This also takes bigger capacity batteries.
