Desert Bath Sand

I have 2 gerbils and thought I would try this sand for a change as I couldn’t get out to my local Pet Shop due to an injury. Delivery was fast next day and it was well packed. The sand is really good, soft and fine the gerbils absolutely love digging and rolling about in it. I think their coat appears cleaner too but I can’t be too sure. The contents of the bag lasted three refills. I normally put it into a bath box and leave it in their glass tank for an hour every second day. If you leave it in too long then they will use it as a toilet spot. Well mine do anyway. The sand does actually clump up really well if they pee so you can filter it out pretty easily. I didn’t get any smell from the samd so it’s not fragrant just samd. I would definitely recommend it, concerning the price if ypu are purchasing actual recommended pet sand and not Kids play sand this is pretty much the correct price give or take a few pounds. I would give this 5 out of 5. My go to sand from now on.

My hamster is obsessed with this sand! It’s super soft (definitely on the gentler side) which is perfect for her little paws. She loves rolling around in it! The absorbency is surprisingly good, it keeps things dry and doesn’t smell, so it lasts a decent while before needing to be changed. It comes in a bag within a bag, which I really appreciated; feels safe and hygienic, no spills or mess. Looks really clean and nice in the cage too, and for the price you get a good amount. Totally worth it. Will be buying again!

The quality is really good and my hamster seems to really enjoy it. Compared to other sands I’ve used this one is one of the best! It’s not dusty at all! The only downside is it’s a little expensive compared to some others I have used

This stuff is heavier than the sand I get at the pet shop, but there is huge hidden advantage to that. Instead of the hamster wee going to the bottom of the sand bath, and requiring me to empty it regularly and wash it out, it clumps in the sand, so you can literally just lift out the wee lumps and the rest of the sand remains usable. That might not be high on your wish list :) but it works for me!

Edit 13 Feb 2022: The odour control isn't really good as I thought it was, the smell lingers after sifting through the sand. My hamster loves it. I've used the other grey sand but due to some supply issues I had to switch to the Niteangel brand and it's wayyy wayyy better. Softer, tinier particles, clumps to pee better and even clumps to poop! Best of all is that it absorbs the pee smell perfectly. One 6lb bag fills up one Niteangel circular sand bath just right. My lil guy practically lives in this sand now.

My Hamster loves it, no complaints, gets crazy all over it and dives in it over and over again. It’s a very fine sand and clean. I’m keeping it and will be buying again
