great alternative to wire
I have been looking at these scrapers for a long time. We really wanted to get away from the brush cleaners as they are not safe. We were always seeing wire pieces on our grill. Very bad!! So I ordered this and my husband and I are both very happy with the purchase. It is much bigger than I had expected which is nice because it keeps your hands away from the heat. This works on our charcoal and gas grill as they have the same spacing for the grates. It definitely takes a little time to get the grooves built in but not long. It works great to get all the gunk off the grates and is so much better than the wire ones. I will order this again when this one wears out but that will be a long time. The only thing is you have to clean it down after you use it because it does get all the stuff built up on it from cleaning. So worth the extra step to clean it after use to the alternative wire brush. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a better solution to the wire cleaners.

Meh..
It works, sorta. Yes it's a safe alternative to potentially ingesting wire bristles but it's no match for the effectiveness of a good stiff wire brush. It just can't get down between the grates and knock off burnt residue like a wire brush, even after using it enough to wear grooves into it. I'm using it AFTER the wire brush to dislodge any wire bristles that may have come loose and stuck to the grates.

Made in china
Made in China. Same as the one I saw at home depot. Purchased because the price was right but be careful how you set the grooves I accidentally set 2 different grooves. There are tons of these on the market right now and most are made in USA so pick one of those up if you can. Even Walmart has a nice one made in USA

Meh...better than a trip to the E.R. I guess....
We've all heard the warnings about metal bristle brushes. Well, after our neighbor ended up in the E.R. and had a surgery to remove a bristle from her esophagus, I decided to dump the brush and try this. It's better than a trip to the E.R., but it really only scrapes the very top-most layer of stuff off of the grill. It's nicely made. Very sturdy. But it just doesn't clean that well. A ball of foil does much better.I know that there will be people thinking that it will burn in and custom fit to your grill in time. I get that, but I have an infrared grill and a smoker. Neither of them get hot enough to actually burn into the scraper.

It works....
Its a nice idea, I am a wood worker, and have a bunch of this wood extra, so I made a template before use, just in case I liked it and it worked really well. It works, with a bit of elbow grease, I have found a ball of tin foil still works best. However, it is a great replacement for wire brushes. I do not recommend for infra-red grills as it cannot get between the main grill slats. All others, it works great. I have 2 seasons of heavy use and it has plenty of life left.

Good job scraping the top surface
I read about the health risks of using metal bristle brushes, so I bought this product. Using it while the grill is warm actually does a good job of forming the "teeth" to fit the grid spacing. This paddle does a good job of scraping the top. However, I find I still have to use a metal bristle brush to get down between the rods of my grill surface. I use the metal brush first, then the wood paddle. I hope the wood paddle will remove any remaining loose metal bristles from the cooking surface.

Covered in mold.
I received this grill cleaning the end of September. It has hung on my grill under the grill’s cover out of the weather between uses. I went to use it tonight and it was covered with mold. It is now in the trash.

Good idea, moderate execution
When I saw this product I thought it was a great idea. After having it for a few months, it just doesn’t clean the grill like a normal brush. I typically now find myself using a bristle brush to hit the areas this product can’t. Great idea, but doesn’t deliver.

Safe and effective
With the dangers of metal fibres on your grill with metal bristled grill brushes, the his is a fantastic alternative. Hardwood that is not wearing down. I expect it will last years and actually be cheaper long term. Good investment.

Useless
This product is useless, it doesn't do a thing to clean a BBQ. You are better off using a rolled up ball of aluminum foil.

Works great!
Solid scraper! Love the smell of wood as you use it on the hot griddle.
