MakerBeam XL Black Anodized Beams 300x15x15mm 4 Pieces

I used these to make a 3D printed BeamCase SW and they worked wonderfully. High quality and a fair price.

I needed to build a rugged custom case for a portable virtual reality workstation, since no commercial pc case would meet all of my criteria. The flexibility of the MakerBeam XL system allowed my to quickly prototype my component layout design, and also to make dozens of tweaks on the fly to refine the design to be exactly what I wanted. The good variety of beam lengths meant that I was able to build almost the entire case with the standard parts, and only had to cut down four pieces. If only I had known earlier that some (if not all) of the brackets for smaller MakerBeam system will work with the MakerBeam XL system. I definitely could have used some of those in my design had I know that they would work! MakerBeam will be my "go-to" system on future projects where the expense is warranted; I would use it on EVERYTHING, except that the cost of all of those little parts really adds up! I would love to keep a whole drawer full of these components on hand to tinker with whenever I think up some crazy idea, but they are a little too pricey to be able to do that. I usually like to buy a few extra parts when I am working on a project like this; having extra parts enables me to explore other options that I may not have thought of in the original design. However, PLEASE NOTE that SOME of these components are returnable (if unused), others are not. Highly recommended product!

The galvanized look is a nice touch. These beams are perfect for my 3D printer project and worked perfectly with my existing kit from formbot. They're slightly nicer looking than the plain aluminum extrusions and they blend nicely with the other black components

Beams were correct length, quantity, and size. The black anodizing is pretty thin and prone to coming off - not an issue in my case but if you need something that looks really good you might look elsewhere.

Great product. I wish I could get it in a larger length, but I have no complaints about the product quality.

Extrusion lengths were as expected. End cuts relatively square. Anodizing inconsistent with some minor scratches.
