The guards will need cutting so you get a tight fit on the blade when the spring mechanism pulls the two parts of the guard together. Easy to do but only needed if for child skates.Big problem is that the the spring mechanism needs securing to the guard on both sides. Doesn’t come with bolts to hold it in place, so when you take the guard off, the mechanism falls out too. I was lucky to have some spare bolts to retrofit but it’s poor design not to supply these.
