It would get five stars if it came with a better power adapter. Shipped with a European adapter that falls out of the socket. I just grab one out of my other routers at home and the product works amazing Are use it while traveling in the RV

Easy to set up straight out of the box. I'm using the Netgear AirCard 779s (with service thru AT&T). I plugged in the power cord. Docked the Mobile Hotspot and off we went. I then downloaded the Netgear Genie App and it is great for making all your personal settings.

I have AC1200 Air Card 797 mobil Hotspot does it work with this ?

Got this to pair with an AC790 air card. The positives are it’s easy to put the air card on the unit, it’s easy to plug it in, you get the extra LAN ports and the stable base and, in theory, you get the extra wifi and LTE antennas.it’s a chunky base station too - and seems to include a fan in it but I never experienced it actually turn on, despite my air card getting pretty hot in use.As I got it for a few reasons, it’s worth looking at those in more detail.1) To provide LAN ports to and to act as a router on my network. It does well here, with the LAN ports allowing it to be integrated with a power line network and so on - plus good WIFI coverage from the unit itself. The standard NetGear software to control it makes it very familiar to set up if you’ve used a NetGear router before.Downsides is it introduced a double NAT. For general internet use, this is fine - the equipment works around it. If you’re into gaming however, this can give problems and despite setting up uPNP, specifying a DMZ etc, I was never able to fully remove the double NAT with this unit. To be fair double NATing seems a consistent problem with the LTE setups I’ve looked at and possibly is down to the general way they work - certainly it’s not something i see with an ADSL connection.2) To improve the LTE reception. it failed miserably here. It was no better than the base air card. Even attaching an external antenna to the two TS-9 ports made no difference (and the same antenna does make a difference with a different router).the air card also got very hot and I did experience some freezes/restarts - which is odd considering it HAS a fan in it - it just never used it.So overall it failed for what I particularly wanted - improved reception. It works okay as a router, it works okay as a base station - but it seemed a real missed opportunity to excel in those areas.it’s good but it’s 3 stars at best from my experiences of it.

Tested and found it completely useless

Meine Freundin wohnt auf dem Land und hat leider kein DSL .Da ich vorher schon über die AirCard 790 verfügte und diese mit 2 Prepaid Karten und Tages Flatrate i.V.m. Laptop dort nutzte und absolut genervt und unzufrieden war, was den Empfang betrifft, und immer nur Edge und ab und zu mal mit viel Glück H+ mit 1 Balken hatte, musste ich mir was einfallen lassen . Ich hatte die AirCard dann mit verschiedenen externen TS9 billig Antennen getestet. Konnte ich auch vergessen, egal wie ich sie ausgerichtet hatte, zum Teil war damit der Empfang sogar noch schlechter. Also weiter gesucht, da damals das Cradle in Deutschland nicht angeboten wurde, hatte ich das schon fast vergessen. Bis ich die letzten Tage weiter nach Antennen recherchierte und durch Zufall auf ein Testbericht des Cradle gestoßen bin und erfuhr das es nun in Deutschland verfügbar, und bei Amazon gelistet ist .Der Preis hat mich dann doch erst abgehalten es zu kaufen, finde es sehr teuer .OK nutzte ja nichts, ich war es satt mit der AirCard kein stabiles Mobiles Netz zu haben.Das Gerät ist sehr groß . Die aufgesteckte AirCard sieht auf dem Dock verloren aus .Beim Anschalten springt für ca 1 Sekunde sehr laut der Lüfter an, danach geht er aber sofort aus uns ist bei mir im Betrieb bisher nicht angesprungen und absolut Geräuschlos.Die Anleitung für die Erstinbetriebnahme ist mit Schnellstart Guide auf Deutsch einfach und binnen paar Minuten erledigt .Die Dock Einstellungen werden dann über Browser konfiguriert . Es gibt Standard und erweiterte Einstellungen, alles ist auch für Laien verständlich und gut einzustellen . Außerdem gibt es u.a. eine Android App 'Genie' mit der man alles einstellen und Überwachen kann.Aber nun zum wichtigsten, hat sich was am Empfang verbessert . Ja und wie, das Dock steht nicht mal in Fensternähe und ich habe nun 2 Balken LTE, vorher nur Edge 3 Balken und ab und zu H+ mit 1 Balken gehabt, also muss der interne Dock Verstärker ja was taugen . Jipieeee.Was mir leider gar nicht gefällt, die AirCard funktioniert im Dock nur mit eingelegten Akku, entnehme ich ihn, setze die Card ins Dock und schalte es ein, geht die Aircard nicht an, obwohl ja Strom vom Dock fließt . Das ist natürlich, wenn die Aircard im Dauerbetrieb an ist , auf Dauer für den Akku nicht gut . Aber muss ich nun so hinnehmen, wichtig ich habe nun endlich eine bessere Empfangsstärke und kann nun produktiv das Internet mit meinem Laptop nutzen .Ich bin zufrieden was den Empfang betrifft, jedoch bis auf den hohen Preis, das die Station so groß ist und im Dock nur mit Akku funktioniert. Darum 1 Punkt AbzugUpdate: 05.12.2017Die Aircard funktioniert doch ohne Akku. Jedoch dauert es ca 3 min bis dann die Aircard im Cradle angeht. Gut, so schone ich den Akku der Aircard 790.Ansonsten läuft das Gerät weiterhin sehr gut. Empfang immer noch gut, der Lüfter springt bei mir im Betrieb nie an. Bin weiterhin zufrieden.
