This worked as expected- was easy to install and pretty easy to do. Worth the money and expected quality for chamberlain.

I'm basing this review on the product itself, and not on my opinion that Chamberlain should include this standard in all their belt-driven garage door openers. The product is pretty straight forward. If you have an 8-foot garage door, you need this extension kit. Otherwise, the standard kit will not be long enough for your door to traverse the necessary length to fully open the door. The product itself is of the same grade and quality as the supplied rail and belt within your new garage door opener kit. The only thing you're really doing is substituting the the original front rail section with this front rail section. It's the same exact part, only longer. In addition, this kit includes a longer belt to now accommodate the overall longer rail. They also throw in a couple extra parts which I found I did not require, e.g., a longer rope for the emergency release handle, and an extra support bar to provide greater stability for the motor mount. The install was very easy as this kit required no further effort than what is required to perform the original install. Once again, this just replaces parts in your new garage door opener. Yet again, begging the question, why not include these parts in the original box? I get the extra cost associated with including both rail headers and belts, but for a major manufacturer it's pennies on the dollar.

The 8' extension kit is well made and works well. This extension kit is a must have item to get a new Chamberlain GD opener to travel the full 8' needed to fully open a standard 8' tall garage door; as the standard new Chamberlain door opener as sold only opens 7'. The kit is a great fix for a substandard new Chamberlain GD opener unit that does not replace an older opener. Chamberlain should just sell both a 7' and 8' garage door opener assembly without requiring you to order the extension kit as an add on which results in the wasting of the original 7' opener supplied belt as well as the original last part of extension pole which is wasteful and an extra expense on the purchaser and burden to the local landfill.

When upgrading my garage opener to the Chamberlain B2401 model, I realized I needed the 8808CB 8‑Foot Rail Extension Kit to accommodate my garage’s 8-foot height. It arrived promptly and includes the replacement belt and rail necessary to match my Whisper Drive Plus opener. Installation was smooth: I swapped the 7-foot rail and belt for the 8-foot parts without any compatibility issues. Everything fit perfectly!

This worked perfect on a new install. I knew I had an 8ft door. The factory rail kit works for shorter doors. Simply replace the one end of the track with the one included in this kit. I was able to install everything by myself.

The kit comes with an additional section of track to extend it for 8 foot garage doors. Also includes a longer drive belt and a longer safety releas rope. Overall it does the job it's intended for. However it was part of the overall crooked track that came with the garage door opener.

This worked great, with the extension for height, on an 18 feet wide, 9 feet tall wooden garage door! (Most 2-car garage doors are just 16 feet wide and many are not solid wood!) We have since moved from that house, but were there about 8 months after this was installed. It was easy to program the built-in garage door opener in our 2015 F150 using the manual in the truck; took me all of 2 minutes! The battery was great when the power went out. We did have an issue a few months after the professional install. I noticed the garage door open a few times when we had clearly closed it. After reading the manual and troubleshooting hints, I called Chamberlain. The guy on the phone walked me through the diagnosis process, and it turns out one wire in the wall switch was being squished. I was able to fix it easily with just a screwdriver while still on the phone. The professional who installed it should have been more careful!!!

Had to get this extension for our garage door opener because we have an 8' door. Frustrating that there isn't an option to just buy the full garage door opening system for an 8' door in the first place. The extension works, but annoying to have to pay extra money. The product itself, works well.

Exact kit needed for 8ft doors. Comes with 8ft belt and 1 rail piece for the end closest to garage door. This rail piece replaces the end piece in your 7 foot rail when you buy your garage door opener. Just swap them. Also comes with a plastic bag containing emergency red handle with rope. Master link to join belt ends and new spring with the orange picture card to adjust spring tension properly to 1 and 1/4 inches length. Just line up picture with spring. Picture is true to size. All in all great kit but pricy. Amazon has the best price though.
