Drumming Asian America: Taiko, Performance, and Cultural Politics

It’s all there in the description, I should have read it more carefully. I’ve recently joined a taiko school and was interested in the history and expansion of taiko in Japan and America. There is some of that here, but the main focus is the typically modern obsession with race, gender, oppression, politics, etc. Pretty much the last thing I wanted to read right now.
