Vicious Fae: Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac, Book 3

Main character is unlikeable
The storyline is good. The world building is brilliant. I’ve read the Zodiac Academy and was drawn to this because of my love for Gabriel. Tory and Darcy are much more likeable main protagonists- though Tory has her irritating moments. It’s difficult to believe the connection between Elise and the four ‘Kings’. I understand her being drawn to them (except Ryder. I don’t get his appeal) but I don’t understand what they get from her other than her body and looks? Her tough girl routine is often cringey and leaves me with second hand embarrassment. They help piece her broken bits back together and she takes and takes and gives nothing real back (other than her body). She is very selfish and her persistence that she needs all four of them and that THEY are selfish for wanting a monogamous relationship doesn’t sit well with me. I’m not hugely into harem situations but when it’s believable and comfortable for all parties then I can get behind it, especially when the object of everyone’s desire comes across as desirable in more than looks. The writing style is decent - if you can get passed some of the cringey things Elise says. The chapters are often long winded and nothing of substance actually happens until the end of the books which has resulted in my skimming a lot of the pages. I wasn’t pulled into this series like I was the ZA ones, but I will finish the series just because it has some background on the ZA characters - though I have even found myself disliking Gabriel a bit in this series which is annoying! If you’re looking for a believable romance I personally wouldn’t recommend this series. It’s a shame because the build up between Darcy and her SO in Zodiac Academy was beautifully done.As I say the world building is brilliant and builds on the beautiful world that ZA introduced us too. And the plot (though, as I say is long winded and doesn’t really progress until the last few chapters) is decent and I do want to know how it wraps up.

Magic Well
And with a cliffhanger like that you know why the sisters get their fans crying, screaming and demanding answers lolThe brutality! So this series is an absolute joy to read. It’s entertaining, a huge page turner. A mystery of many other mysteries. We got a sneak of the sisters other series too in book 3 so you know when you go on a downer from one amazing series and get the book funk mood and can’t find anything that will even come close to what you just read. Well i know that won’t be me once I’ve demolished this bad boy. This is a series that just keeps on giving. What’s not to like about this world of ruthless boys, a magical world of all kinds of beauties, vamps, lions, dragons, snakes, birds, wolves (my fave) , harpies, sphinx, rats lol and so much more. It’s like a adult version of a fairy tale with so much darkness and blood lust 🤤

Magic, murder, heat, passion and not one but four Kings!
What an ending, I certainly didn't expect that! I am loving this series, although the first half of this was perhaps a little slow, it certainly ramped up in the second half. The tension and suspense increased, secrets were revealed and the passion levels exploded as Elise got closer and closer to her kings. With an explosive build up towards the end, are the kings finally accepting each other because of Elise? But wow, after the ending I have no idea how this will play out and we are still no closer to discovering the identity of Gareths killer. We certainly got more into the heads of all the kings and I love how we are slowly seeing beneath their defences. They all offer something different and although they all have their a-hole moments, they are all growing on me. Could I choose? I'm not so sure the more I see, although Leon holds an extra piece of my heart. The world building is fantastic and even though they are long books, they've captured my imagination. Cant wait to see what happens next!4.5 stars

Well...didn't see that coming!
The twisted sisters have done it again and thrown a complete curve ball at the very end. So glad the next book is out so I can get straight into it x

Finally!
Vicious Fae (Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac 3)- Caroline Peckham and Suzanne ValentiSo they’re off to zodiac academy and Gabriel has finally admitted to Elise what it is he did to Gareth… bit of a let down tbh.Elise is still donning her figurative deerstalker and finds herself in a most combustible situation while eavesdropping on the black card leader. The trip to zodiac academy is enlightening for the boys, as Gabriel makes a new friend and Leon loses out on his big dreams. We finally see some hot three way action - honestly the slow burn does nothing for me! I’m more Wham bam thank you sexy man!Well, that was some ending.Next please!4⭐️

So much potential
The world building, characters, and main plot are fabulous, so much so I couldn't put the book down. However, like many people, I found myself constantly skim reading as the authors take five paragraphs to say what could be said in one.I'm also finding myself disliking Elise. I find her utterly selfish. Everything has to be her way or not at all. She claims to be Eugene's friend whilst looking down her nose at him (If he'd been attractive she would no doubt have treated him differently). The way she treats Ryder, and in particular Gabriel, is just awful. They deserve better. Sadly I see nothing in Elise worth any of them breaking their hearts over. The book was written as reverse Harem, no doubt to tittilate the audience and earn a fast buck. Such a shame. Get rid of that element and it had the potential to be an absolutely outstanding fantasy series.
