Gossip Girl: Season 5

I watched this with my husband and now he's hooked! Every time we eat dinner the first thing we ask each other is "Gossip Girl?" and turn on the TV. We love this show!

I have to be honest. When Gossip Girl was renewed for its fifth season I wasn't sure at the beginning. The first half of the fourth season was amazing and then it became bad at the ending (reason of why the show lost a lot of viewers).But who doesn't love Gossip Girl? I mean, it's one of the most sassy TV series ever. Betrayal, secrets, and more... just at the GG style. The fifth season introduces us to a lot of new plots (and not recycled ones), like Charlie protecting her real identity, Serena working on the movie business, Dan finally getting his book published and Blair preparing her royal wedding. I just think this season made us see a different side of the characters, because they are more mature now, but that doesn't mean that they decisions take the wrong way, why? Because that's what makes a show good: the twists.Most people say that the show is just getting worse by every episode, but I truly still enjoy it. If you stopped watching the show, watch the fifth season, maybe it could change your mind. There's another perspective, but a good one.It's worth the pre-order, and I hope it has a lot of bonus features (the most fun part of this kind of box sets!)

This show has always been over the top, but this season took the cake. I mean marrying a prince? Just because it was happening in real life does not mean, "oh it is okay for a storyline." No. To over the top. Oh well I guess that is what makes this show so entertaining. I gave it a five star though because this show as been my main and most favorite show since it started. Hopefully I don't have to buy it and my dad does. I'm going to try to sneak it into the cart hehe.

this gets a five cause its gossip girl watched it from the start have no complaints about the show except for the very ending of the show (which I won't spoil) but I guess I gota watch the rest in complete to get it.the dvd is beautiful this is why I also try to buy either American or the original (depending where its' from) cause their packaging is better, looks better and just doesn't seem as cheap.would recommend to people who like the show it's not for everyone.

Likely my favourite season for 'Gossip Girl'. It has everything going for it.Blair (Leighton Meester) has always been my favourite character in this series. It's not often that a spoiled character, so viciously self-involved, can manage to make a viewer laugh, cringe and still feel pity all at the same time. But that's the genius of Leighton Meester's charm. Originally set to play the mean girl, off of Blake Lively's assumed nice gal, Meester managed to play her role with all the complexity of a real diva. Blair is everything you wanna hate in a character, but she's also everything you want to root for in a heroine. I think the closest comparison would be to Vivian Leigh's star-making role as Scarlett O"Hara.To be fair, Blake Lively's character isn't unlikable, but she just has never been fully developed. That is unfortunately also true for Dan, Nate, & especially Vanessa. The villains are entertaining circles around the nice characters because they've been written with such obvious gusto by the writing team behind the show. Chuck Bass, played deliciously by English actor, Ed Westwick, steals the remaining scenes Blair doesn't already devour. If you think about it, the show was supposed to be about Dan and Serena. But Chuck and Blair have always been the fan favourites of the series. In a show built around fashion, cat-fighting, wealth, sex & double-crossing, Gossip Girl is every bit a success.Unfortunately, after the amazing season 5 success, the show had begun to lose its audience and an incredibly frustrating, and several lacklustre season 6 was tossed to the fans to tie up the series. Its both short, and nonsensical. I won't ruin the finale, but season 5 is by far the juiciest season of the 6. It's a shame, really. It felt to me as if Blake might have stepped in an demanded refocus on her own character for the final season.My only qualm with Lively's performance throughout the series is ...where was her mindset for the 5 season when her show was stolen from underneath her. The two most unlikeable characters created still somehow make Serena more boring than melba toast; even when she tries to play a mean girl. It certainly makes for a conversational debate once you've watched the entire series.Personally, I always laughed at just how boring both Dan and Serna were. Even Duroda, Blair's maid, has a better storyline then either of the so-called leads. Ive read repeatedly over the last few years Blake Lively didn't like Meester. Perhaps she was aware of what was happening, but didn't have the pull to fix it. That would explain a lot. I've seen her in films since the series ended. She's really not a bad actress, given the right opportunities.

Adoro questo telefilm! Essendo una Chair nel midollo la quinta stagione è quella che mi è piaciuta di meno però ovviamente non poteva mancare alla collezione e appena ho visto che il prezzo è diminuito non c'ho pensato due volte...consegna come sempre puntualissima e prodotto in ottime condizioni.Ho acquistato le prime tre stagioni l'anno scorso in un negozio perché ancora non conoscevo il sito e le ho pagate una cifra esorbitante...un enorme ringraziamento ad amazon che mantiene invece i costi contenuti e ha un servizio davvero ottimo!Adesso speriamo che esca presto anche l'ultima serie...

観始めてすぐに「あー！面白い！！」と叫んでしまう楽しさ。gossip girlが大好きなだけに、前シーズンよりも楽しめなかったらどうしようと毎回新シーズンは不安な気持ちで観始めるのですが、そんなものはすぐにどっかへ飛んでいきました。前半は、あまりの面白さに今までで一番のスピードで観てしまいました。今回のシーズンも見事前回を上回った！と圧巻。しかし後半は突然失速。恐らく前半で次シーズンで終わることが決まり、ストーリーを畳み掛けなければという焦りが出たのだと思います。ただ視聴者でも気付いてしまう急カーブに次ぐ高速っぷりで、今は何がどうなの？と置いてけぼりを感じてしまいました。特に感じたのはブレアの短すぎるプリンセスライフ。もっと余裕があったらじっくり観せてくれるつもりだったのかなぁー？とせっかく新しい世界が幕を開けるのを感じたのですが残念でした。ルイ王子も好きなキャラクターだったのでもうちょっとストーリーに絡んで欲しかったです。あと皇太子一家が突然出て来なくなるのにはちょっと違和感を感じました。やんわりフェードアウトしていくと思っていたのに、案外ラストはあっけなくて拍子抜けでした。プリンセスってそんなに軽いものではないだろう？となんだか引っかかり続けました。けれど“内側”から観たらこんなものなのだろうと、あくまでゴシップガールはセレブたちの内側視点のドラマなのだからと納得しました。ただプリンセスになって、別れて。もっともっとブレアは騒がれるものでは？とドラマのリアリティが良く分からなくなるところも多々ありました。そして最早ggファンの一番の楽しみ…と言っても過言ではないチャックとブレアのロマンス。チャックは相変わらずときめかせてくれます。王子にブレアをたくしながら、ブレアを心配したり支えてくれたりするチャックは本当にかっこいい。ただ、後半のダンとチャックで揺れるブレアにはちょっと…とチャックとブレアを応援する側からしたら少しショックでした。正直！チャックとブレアのロマンスはもーーーこれ以上引っ張るのは無理だから（笑）それ以上いじらないで！！と思ってしまったり。あとは“ローズ家遺産相続問題”が前半から長引かせすぎてストーリーの足を引っ張っていた。もうキャロルいいから！！なんかもうみんな悪いんじゃない？！！と話が揉みくちゃになって、結局全員悪者みたいになってしまったのも何だか後味悪かった。チャーリーは前シーズンではあまりパッとしない印象だったのですが、一気に垢抜けて綺麗で美人になって驚きました他キャストではいない顔立ちだしすごく可愛い〜！！前半の流れは好きだったけど、後半はチャーリーって結局いい人？悪い人？となんだか忙しくて、あまり好感が持てないキャラクターになってしまったのがショック！後半もっと活躍させて欲しかった！ローラは正直キャスティングミスと思ってしまうくらい垢抜けていない地味な子でちょっと美男美女のキャストが売り（だと思っています）でもあるggでは浮きすぎでは？田舎からやって来た普通の女の子という設定だからかもしれませんが、それにしたって花がなくて観ていてテンションが上がらない。性格も図々しいところが多くてイライラさせられました。後半はそのせいで失速したのもあると思います。ブレア、セリーナ、ネイト、チャックらは裏切ったり策略を巡らせても憎み切れない愛されキャラクターだけれど、ローラはあまり共感の持てないキャラクターでした。だったらチャーリーをどうにかして欲しかったです。けれどヴァネッサ、ジェニーが抜けたのは良かったと思います。シーズン4で既に出番はかなり減っていたので突然いなくなった感はなく、それによりキャストが一新されて新しいドラマのようなフレッシュさが戻ってきました。また、ブレアのプリンセスという魔法が解けるとアッパーイーストも一気に現実的になったのが印象的でした。親がお金持ちで、働かなくても大丈夫な彼ら。しかし今回のシーズン5は、そのツケがそれぞれに回って来たのを感じました。彼らの「頑張っている」のレベルの低さ。そして精神面での弱さ。ラストはそれが浮き彫りになって、今までの人生で何をしてきたのかが明暗を分けているように思いました。全体を通して見どころなのは◆ブレアのプリンセス◆それと並行して熱くなるチャックとのロマンス（チャックにときめくこと間違いなし！！）◆セリーナ、働く◆セリーナが自分を見失う◆働く男、ネイト◆ダンの新髪型がかっこいい！◆チャーリー（アイビー）の活躍とビジュアル◆100話のオープニングは永久保存版！ミュージカル調で、セリーナはマリリン・モンローにブレアはオードリーのコスプレ！男性陣も踊ります！特典ではキャラクターの衣装についてのインタビューがとても良かったです！気付かないようなこだわりの点や。キャラクターの性格を更に知ることが出来楽しいです。アクセサリー一つにもキャラそれぞれ意味があるのはすごい。ファンには是非観て頂きたい！100話突破記念のインタビューはオフショット多くてキャストの仲良しが伝わってきます。懐かしい映像もたくさんでファンにはたまりません！NG集は相変わらず楽しい（笑）いよいよ次がラストシーズン！ラストシーズンは全体が本来の半分の短さ、ということもあり1話1話が濃い〜こと間違いなし！なので今からまた一年長いですが楽しみに待っていたいと思います(^^)最後はggらしさを思いっきり出してもらって有終の美を飾って頂きたい！
