VERY NICE JACKET
I bought this jacket to replace an existing one that was getting old (which i donated to our coat closet at our local hospital)I bought the large as I went by the sizing chart and it fits just fine. I wanted a nice jacket that was also warm and versatile as I wanted one that I could wear year round. So I found this 3 in 1 jacket.I live in central Iowa and the weather here can be cold rainy hot windy and you never seem to know sometimes!I like the fact I can wear it with the liner and a hat and gloves when its cold and then in the spring you can just wear the liner and or just wear the outer shell. The hood is removable by just unzipping it and as for the hood, it is not lined and seems pretty thin but would do the job on a windy or rainy day.The pockets are nice and the two large ones are very easy to access and plenty big enough as well as the two side zipper pockets. There is a zipper breast pocket and you have plenty of room for keys, wallet, cell phone etc.The waist does have a draw string that you can tighten to have it fit snugger along the bottom.I even tried the jacket with another extra liner and there was plenty of room to move around and it just added another layer of warmth and protection.Like others have said too, you really can't go wrong with this jacket for the price.Overall very happy with the purchase.UPDATED REVIEW: 2-13-20So we had a bought of some extreme cold weather here in central Iowa. The temperatures dropped to well below zero and wind chills got very cold in double digits.I wear this jacket with a scarf and gloves and going to and from my vehicle and walking across parking lots etc I was warm and the jacket blocked the wind as well.Very nice jacket and warm!

provided comfort in a wide range of temperature
I took this to Connecticut for the holidays. On arrival I needed to stand in 10-degree darkness waiting for a shuttle; it was warm enough for that. Over the time I was there the temps varied widely, 20s, 30s, high 40s; wind and still; cloudy and sunny. Being able to use onlyu as much of the coat as I needed was extremely useful. I went trail walking at 40-degrees plus, and the outer shell as a windbreaker and warm shirt were just what I needed.I don't especially like the detachable hood, I much prefer the kind that rolls up into the collar. Speaking of which, the "collar" is quite indistinct and it's hard to find the right spot to grab when carrying or hanging it up, and there's no loop to hang it. I found it rather difficult to put back together... the single attachment points and snap-loops in the sleeve are too far up the sleeve, the main zippers on the inner and outer are the same size and so you can attach to the wrong one, ... I feel some doubt about the durability of those attachments. And they let the inner sleeves withdraw a good way into the sleeve so it felt awkward every time I took it off.To me those points are all minor. The info on the size chart was accurate, the coat was warm enough, the 3-in-1 flexibility was extremely useful (I used all 3 options), and it is not very expensive. So I definitely do recommend it.

Hidden notes of High Quality
Besides the over all appearance and good looks, there are many details indicating this is a high quality jacket.

Good Combination jacket
I like this jacket combo and the ability to wear either part by itself. I read the reviews before buying and was happy to find that MY jacket does indeed HAVE loops with buttons to anchor the liner arms as well as at the neckline. The Zippers may not be real YKK's but for the price I am sure they will last quite a while.I was confused when I 1st opened the box though. Only 1 side of the liner was zipped up and none of it was tucked in so it flopped open not looking like a coat at all????I think they were trying to gently prod you to see how it goes together correctly. For example when I looked at the label in the liner and chuckled "They put it in side out". So I flipped over and rezipped it. At this point I realized that the liner pockets were now in between the jacket and liner and it moved it back. Properly installed you have access to the pockets. When you use the liner by itself you turn it inside out and the pocket are now on the outside. Clever design actually. The only complain I have is that the detachable hood is very thin and I would have liked a filled one or fleece. This is not enough not to downgrade this excellent jacket though. I would buy this again but with my luck, this will probably last me until they don't make them anymore.

excellent purchase; much more than just a raincoat
I wanted an all-season raincoat for general use and am hugely pleased with the jacket. It is excellent for rain. The liner keeps me warm down to 20 degrees. The hood is unlined but easily allows a ski cap under it. The hood keeps the head dry and is excellent as a wind breaker with or without the ski cap. The liner is easily removed; the shell is lightweight and a good windbreaker. Over 70 degrees any jacket will become too warm but this will keep you dry. It is loose enough to breathe, enhancing its comfort when the temperature is up. It is loose enough to wear over a wide variety of other clothing - a light sweater and the shell might be preferred instead of the inner liner if the temp is in the 40's. It opens and closes easily. There are many pockets; inner pockets and overlapping outer pockets; some with zippers, others with fold-over flaps.

It's worth about $50.00
I will use this as my backyard coat snow shoveling etc. I don't expect it to last long single stitches thin material. The price is about right.

Lightweight But Warm!
I haven't put the two-layer jacket to the ultimate test yet - ie, atop a cold mountain, but it seems fine for the price. I would like to have the sleeves a bit longer but the next size, I think, would be too large in the torso - I often have that fitting problem.

Overall great
Great jacket got the Xl just a little big on me but if i go down a size probly to small good in rain and snow. The zipper presses on my lips when I zip it all the way up no big deal

Insulation
It is a nice looking piece of winter clothing. It could be more breathable. Quite versatile with the removable shell. Serves well as a wind breaker with shell only.
