As the Romans warned, "Caveat Emptor!" Or, "Buyer Beware!"
I wish somone had warned me. So let me do that for you!But first it is probably usefulfor you to know a bit more about me so you can make a better informed decision about buying the MAXX. I was traine by a chef for 3 years in my 20's, so I know my way around a kitchen, but I currently qualify for the "55 Plus" menu at Denny's. I share this because what is important in cooking appliances for me may be meaninless to others.I recently decided I need to make life easier for myself because it's just too damned exhausting to drag out my cast iron cookware every time I want a fancy meal. So I was browsing "Toaster Ovens with rotisserie" when this Kaloric MAXX popped up.hmmm... "Kaloric is an old European brand," I thought. Belgian? Great reputation, and backed by Amazon Prime. "Money back guarantee, no questions asked." What could be better than that! So I ordered! When mine arrived, the Amazon shipping box was damaged in 2 places (hole pierced), but the inside Kaloric box seemed okay. Let's see if it works...?My god, what an unpacking nightmare! This is no "Plug'n'Play" toaster oven! 20 minutes of unwrapping and a trashcan full of packaging wasn't enough.BEFORE using it the first time, you have to "cure" it by running it at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes, and it stinks up your whole kitchen! That worked, but mine seems to have an electrical short that is extremely frustrating. If I can get it started it seems to work okay, but getting it started can take a lot of tries!I was determined to get grill marks on a burger. Unless you like inch thick burger patties, medium rare is not an option! "Charcoal flavor?" I had to use a butane torch for that! But I had planned ahead. I LOVE great rotisserie roasted beef, so I ordered ahead and bought a New Zealand Wagyu beef roast. Setting the prongs to hold the meat on the spit was difficult enough, but once I accomplished that, I could NOT get the rotisserie to turn! I read the manual. Three times. NOTHING! Not one word about HOW to make the spit turn. So after 20 minutes, I took the pricy roast off the spit, rewrapped it in butcher paper and put it in the freezer.I suppose I *COULD* have called Kaloric one more time (I had called TWICE during the unwrapping nightmare), but in re-reading the manual, I realized that the IDIOTS who designed this machine DO NOT UNDERSTAND BAKING!MY copy of the manual tells me that the gap between the French doors is plnned and WILL NOT effect my baking. All I have to do for perfect results is open the doors half way through baking and turn the pan "back to front," close the doors and get perfect results. Not on this planet! A cake will fall in the middle if you do that! A souffle will collapse! My point is that if your baking is primarily things like Brown'n'Serve dinner rolls, that'll work, but if you're a scratch cook the MAAXX ain't for you!So the OBVIOUS best option for me is to get an Amazon money back guarantee REFUND!Good luck on that one! I've been an Amazon Prime member for years and NEVER EVER had a pop-up window tell me I MUST get the manufactursr's permossion to return their product! But it happened to me.I have now been battling these Kaloric idiots for at least a week to get MYmoney back. They have authorized the refund *IF* I will send them a photograph of the back of the oven with the electriic cord CUT OFF!Not in a month of Sundays! Why? Let me count the ways:#1: Don't these people realize any repair shop can install a new cord for cheap!#2: I want the whole thing OUT OF MY HOUSE! All of it! It is th MANUFACTURER'S responsibility to dispose of their damaged products. NOT THE CUSTOMERS!ATTENTION AMAZON!Please dump this seller. They have seriously shaken my faith in the VALUE of my Amazon Prime membership when one PURCHASE from Kaloric and their refusal to refund me can wipe out your entire annual membership fee! Kaloric is obviously a greed based company. What were you thinking when you allowed these terms?Once again:, fellow shoppersCAVEAT EMPTOR!

Best Air Fryer I’ve Used!!!
I got a Kalorik Air Fryer about 3 years ago and absolutely loved it! I used it for everything from toasting a slice of bread to making delicious fish tacos. When the newer model came out I was so excited to get it, especially since it had the new feature of being a grill!!!!!! It has absolutely lived up to the hype. I have grilled hamburgers and steaks to test out the grill. And everything has come out tasting amazing!

UPDATED: Overall the best countertop I've used, BUT...
UPDATE (10.7.23): Another one bit the dust last night. I'm beyond frustrated with these units just dying after 3-4 months. I have zero interest in pursuing another replacement. Time to move on to a more reliable brand. Buyer Beware!UPDATE (6.14.23): I was finally able to connect with someone and they sent a replacement unit. I received that in Mid-March and last night, literally at the 3-month mark it died again, just like the first one. It was pre-heating and then dead as a doornail. I'm really disappointed because I like the unit but I'm not going to replace every three months.I've previously owned several countertop ovens/air fryers; while each has pros and cons, this has been the most well-rounded unit I've had. I've had Emerill's 360, Ninja 10-in-1, and Instant Omni Pro.This unit comes with a lot of accessories, does a real preheat (looking at you Ninja), cooks evenly, and is actually easy to clean (except the very top where the heating element/fan is located.BUT...I received this in November 2022 and it died weeks ago. So that's a 2.5-3 month life on a pretty expensive unit. I'm still waiting to get some resolution with their customer service. I tried calling them but the message said that if it was an issue with the unit to email them at support@ with particular pieces of information, which I did. However, after almost two weeks of no response, I did both chat support and the contact form on the site. I finally got an acknowledgment, but they asked for the same information I've sent twice now. All that to say...if your unit dies, good luck with a timely response/resolution. I hope that I do in fact get a replacement unit.

Nice oven
Haven’t had the kalorik air fryer oven grill long enough for an in-depth review but so far I like it. Nice to not heat up my large oven. I’ve recently baked cookies which came out great. However I did not use the baking pan that came with the fryer but instead used existing stainless steel pans I already had. Makes a big difference in the end product. No burnt cookie bottoms. Makes a great rotisserie chicken too.
