Totally disappointed. The novel doesn't take grip as you go on reading. Too much dialogues to the extent that it feels that the writer should have created a play out of it. Was planning to go for the other novel by Rain " Lost Shekspear" but I won't.

waste of money
The author of this book has clearly no concep or knowledge of 19th centur England or english. Indeed, I had the impression that the author had never read the canon. The language used is pure American 20th century slang thoughout. No waiter in a19th century gentleman's club would ever have said, "enjoy" for the simple reason tgat thephrase did not exist. Holmes talks of a 'huckster'. The english word is pedlar. Andso on and on. The whole thing was embarrassing. Avoid at all costs.

Very Good
The banter between Holmes and Watson as they work a case are interesting. The writer gives you just enough clues to allow you to form your own conclusion. Yet the writer surprises you with a logical explanation at the end.

Most Ordinary
I found this to be difficult reading. Although there were many elements present that could keep the reader engaged, it seemed that the plot stretched out too much and lacked coherence. Some stories reach out and grab you and keep you breathlessly turning pages to see what comes next. This was not one of them. It's pace was plodding and seem disorganized in many areas. This is my first experience with works from this author and will definitely give her another shot. However, as noted, this was not an impressive first introduction.

Very clever and entertaining.
Holmes and Watson have always been heroes in my estimation. The suspense and logic in this story represent what Sir Arthur would appreciate. Well done, and happy that the game is still afoot!
