We Love Bugs: Classic Poems for Children of All Ages (We Love Poetry)

This is a book of thirty-one poems about bugs. These range from nursery rhymes we remember as a child, “Little Miss Muffet”, to those I was not familiar with. Read wonderful poems by well known poets like Emily Dickinson and John Keats. This is a great book to share with your children or grand-children.

Based upon the detailed artwork on the cover, I expected a book with beautiful illustrations throughout. While the poems and stories are cute, they are basically just typed on a plain white background. This book has potential but was disappointing for me. It does not keep my children's attention.

I read this book to my daughter at night when I want her to go to sleep. It's soothing and rhythmic and uses words she might not hear otherwise. I like most of the poems too but I agree with the other reviewer. I would be better with pictures.

Although he is not sure what a bug is exactly, he still loves the pictures and stories about animals and bugs. Whenever we are together he wants to look at a book on Papa's iPad. I of course, love to indulge him.

A great venue to introduce children to the poetry genre... I really love these poems and the enchanting way they expose you to poetry...I will definitely use this in my classroom...
