An epic tale spanning forty years in the life of Celie (Whoopi Goldberg), an African-American woman living in the South who survives incredible abuse and bigotry. After Celie's abusive father marries her off to the equally debasing "Mister" Albert Johnson (Danny Glover), things go from bad to worse, leaving Celie to find companionship anywhere she can. I have always loved this movie and decided to order it for my collection of movies. There does not seem to be anything on cable lately without paying again to watch. You already pay over $200.00 a month just for the internet and cable. Rip off if you ask me. I enjoy watching my movies over and over.
