Awesome guide to how the heart works
Sadly, I think this 2000 book may be out of print. I was lucky enough to find a used copy. I was diagnosed with a couple of heart issues I January and in two weeks I have an echocardiogram and the following day a “nuclear” stress test (where a dye in injected in my arteries and then some chemical to make my heart respond as if I were on a treadmill). I didn’t know much about the heart and began searching for a “just the facts” book. Instead, so many books were about diet and recipes to prevent heart disease. I’d gone through a couple of so-so books, and the detailed textbooks were too expensive. I came across this book used and it is exactly what I was looking for. It’s written for someone who wants to learn about the heart, types of “issues”, how issues are treated , etc. Each category is presented in separate chapters. The illustrations are very good and this filled with information I needed. Yes, it is 19 years old, so some things have changed, but “the basics” still are relevant. Thumbs up!

A Comprehensive Heart Book
There are quite a few books on this subject on the market and this one is the best. It covers almost everything you want to know about the human heart and the content is easy to read.It is not aimed at the professionals only and layman like me can get to know how my heart works casually. It includes the mechanism of the heart, causes of various heart diseases/problems, symptoms, ways of treatment, heart health ...etc. Very comprehensive and well organised.I would recommend this book to those who want to know more about our hearts.

Reliable source of information
Mayo Clinic is one of my most trusted sources of medical information. I bought the book to replace an older edition which was out of date.
