Amazing laptop!
Amazing laptop!! Just don't put it in your carry on, and then check your carry on at the gate. I now have a cracked screen and the touchscreen doesn't work. But that's my dumb fault. It was great prior to that.

Acer is great - but missed it on this specific model.
So I have always loved my Acer laptops, and bought this to replace a 3+ year old one that I had actually wore out/ broke the touchpad on. So this was the "upgrade" to my beloved Acer Aspire M5 ultrabook - and even new it was never quite right. Boots up slower than the old one. Wake from sleep is slower to enter password, then it takes like another 30 seconds for the screens to come up where it will respond to what you are trying to do. (for reference, my old ultrabook reported a standard that wake from sleep to online was like 5 seconds) Has always done random "not quite right" things, like where the touchpad will stop working, but if you use touch the touchscreen it works, and then the touchpad starts working again. Sometimes will not wake from sleep, causing an improper shut down because you have to hold the power down to force shutdown and restart. Last fall, it just started freezing when doing things like opening a tab in Chrome. Then it began to crash- unrecoverable to the point of having no choice but to use the Win Recovery to reinstall and start clean. After this happening and still having constant registry errors, and the computer randomly not responding what seemed like all the time, I got Acer to warranty it. After they sent it back, they determined it "tested fine" and reportedly did some updates. Upon return, to start up - literally over 10 minutes. It is still not responding right but I don't know what else to do. In researching this model hoping to find help/ fixes, it seems there are a lot of others having problems with this particular model, but no clear fixes yet. I am not sure what to do next - my computer is necessary for work, and less than 1 year old, but not reliable when I need it to be. At this point, if you are reading this, it is probably a refurbished model or old stock from somewhere, so I would stay away. For this price, there has got to be better choices that will at least operate as advertised.

Works Great! I'm not a gamer
Works Great! I'm not a gamer, but this Laptop is good for my use on Disaster Response Deployments. Response time is good, memory is good, storage capacity is good, and easy to carry around with a case or without. Price was right too.

Its a beautiful computer. runs a bit slow at times
Its a beautiful computer. runs a bit slow at times, and the fan can get really loud. The backlit keys make typing in the dark a pleasant experience as its not too bright. the display is gorgeous, especially when watching Netflix. The touch screen isn't all that responsive and it jitters sometimes, but the computer itself is really nice. It's decent for the average university student

The honeymoon was over in six months. AVOID.
I bought this Acer Aspire R 15 Convertible Laptop less than two years ago. I didn't use it constantly. It was a back up for my desktop and I also have a small tablet I use. I mostly used the laptop when I traveled which isn't all that often. At first, I liked the touch screen and the computer in general. The graphics were good, speed was fine for my use, it booted up quickly, etc. The power supply was always loose in the computer but that didn't seem to cause issues. It bugged me that it wasn't snug though. I did not like that, to use the tablet mode, I had to flip the keyboard back and it was exposed, leaving it open to dust and damage so I never used this Acer as a tablet which I really wanted to do. That is a bad design flaw. They could have designed a lightweight cover for the keyboard so that setting it down or carrying it while in table mode would not endanger the keys. But they were left exposed. After about six months, it started to get weird. It would switch to laptop configuration for no reason. It would flash on and off and just be annoying. Then it would be OK for a while. After just 12 months, it just stopped being a touch screen. I did EVERYTHING I could to figure out why that would happen. Acer is and was of NO HELP at all. The touch screen is very important to me and the reason I bought this laptop. The laptop then started to act erratically much more often, making it impossible to use. It would change tabs, close pages, basically flip out and made me do the same. The cursur would disappear and, without the touch screen, I was helpless. I had to reboot. I gave up on it and just bought a new Dell touch screen laptop. There is no reason a laptop that cost as much as this one did at the time was not used heavily should have burned out the way this one did. It was a very poor choice. I do NOT recommend this laptop and, in fact, I have decided to stay away from Acer completely. I have had issues with other Acer products. This was so fun and good for the first 6 months but after that, it was one headache after the other. I am recycling it and chalking the purchase up to a learning experience. Acer will not help you if you need them thus I will not buy an Acer so I will never have to need them!

ACER Aspires!!
This computer is absolutely wonderful. I was actually surprised b/c I didn't know recognize ACER to make good products several years ago; however since then, it's more than obvious that ACER has stepped their game-up. This computer is fast, light and works incredible. Definite BANG for your buck. I'm an ACER fan from this day forward.

Slow out of the box...
So, I just received this yesterday... started setting it up (which was somewhat painful, due to lag time on touchscreen and time it took to move from one section to the next) and it has been slow and glitchy right off the bat. Once I got on't the desktop, the internet froze, then the computer. I had to do a hard shut down (which shouldn't be needed on first use; I expect this maybe after years of use). Restarted and screen stayed black; finally got past that and it is so unbelievably slow and glitchy. Not sure what to do here... hoping it is temporary.

Pretty good computer
This computer has some problems but that is because it's older model. It's biggest problem is its need to update 2 to 3 times a week. But I believe it worth it because of its utility and memory space.

La atención del proveedor excelente!! El equipo muy bueno, versátil y ligero. Aunque tal vez exagere en el tamaño, unas pulgadas menos hubieran sido excelentes, sobre todo cuando la uso como tablet.
