Toukiden 2 - PlayStation 4

Toukiden 2 is one of those games that must not be left unplayed. This game is a unique gem, yes it is similar to monster Hunter but it's a game all it's own. It has a story that is pretty good, a cast of characters I fell in love with, an epic character creation system, and hundreds of weapons and armor to buy and forge. This JRPG is subbed, which means the voices are in Japanese and the subtitles English. Once played you'll appreciate the Japanese voices, as the game is centered in a Japan like land called Yokohama. The oni are fun to slay and seriously require strategy and team work in order to take down. There are various fighting styles to learn and master I stood with 2 and mastered them, but you can use any style throughout the 35+ hour campaign. The gameplay is addictive and has strategy, such as the demon hand, choosing the right allies, weapons, armor, and mitama. The open world is huge and the land varies I was sure to be weary of lands with high miasma which is an instant KO. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It's one that is unforgettable and one of a kind. A game that even after I finished I can't stop thinking about, and very eager to return to Yokohama again soon and share a hot spring bath with my friends again after a long day of slaying oni. 88/100

This game is great. It takes the "Monster Hunter" style of things in a bit of a new direction with how story-focused it is and with the addition of the Demon Hand mechanic. It's super fun to play solo and online both. I will say that Monster Hunter veterans will probably find this game somewhat lacking in the difficulty department however. It's not a terribly hard game if you've already cut your teeth on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite or MHTri. Still, I love this game to pieces. It's got a great story, lovable characters (Tsubaki and Tokitsugu are two of my personal favorites), and great gameplay. If you've got a monster-hunter kind of itch that you need to scratch until MHWorld comes out, look no further than this game.I also want to add that I really disliked the previous Toukiden games. Age of Demons and Kiwami both felt so stale in comparison to Monster Hunter and God Eater titles, but with this entry Toukiden 2 really steps up and freshens the genre up.

It is better than the first game, especially since there is now *gasp!* terrain. Still, it uses the very old style button combos mashing that I really don't care for. Also, not in English! BOO! (NO EXCUSE for not being in English, none. They say it is not in English due to "lore". Um, I cant understand the language it is in so all this 'Lore" is missed by me. Double Blah.)+ Good looking game+ Cool monsters- horrible combo button mashing- not in English voice+/- your team kills minor monsters really fast, it is hard to keep up with them+/- minor monsters are fast to attack from behind while you are combo bashing, they interrupt you+/- weird level up system

Words can't even describe how remarkably amazing this game is! As a fellow fan of Action-RPGs like this, Toukiden 2 took my breath away! Tried the demo at first, and I still enjoyed it to the very end. Getting the real game is what got me so giddy with excitement! I really loved the game, and I hoped to keep playing it more in the future, even online!

Great sequel to the original toukiden /toukiden kiwami. New oni, new weapons, deeper character creation, and some new abilities in an open world environment makes this game really fun and rich. I preordered this earlier in the month, but didn't receive my dlc bonuses... that's a let down but the game is pretty fun

Very few games can pull off a good monster hunting experience. The Toukiden games pull it off very well with great graphics you will not get on hand helds like 3ds. The combat is fast and fun with a huge world to explore. Amazon just sent me my preorder bonus code so hopefully everyone gets theirs.

I was always a cod player/ first person shooter gamer. However I came accross the demo of this game on the PlayStation store and instantly fell in love with it and had to buy the full game. Honestly I hope there’ll be a toukiden 3.

So far, in my opinion, this is one of the most underrated games of 2017. I'm not sure why more aren't playing this. Other than the just okay visuals it's a bloody fun time with hours and hours and hours of content. If you like monster hunting-games, don't miss this.

I have liked games produced by Tecmo-Koei. This one is also very good and exciting one. Its graphics and designs are very good. Scenarios are also excellent. I am really enjoying it. Well done.

Great gameplay and story. The combat system can be kind of confusing, but once you get it down it's really rewarding.
