Really great in Chinese, schezuan cooking! Gives it a little "kick" You don't need a lot, season to taste first before you dump a whole teaspoon in it! It does wonderful for all Asian dishes, and I've even added it to some Italian, Indian Curries, American Roasts and Stews. It's not too hot, but just enough! Small har will last you a couple of months! Great value for the price!

This stuff punches well above its weight. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys spicy food. It's not just spicy, it has a nice savory, garlic flavor, as well as a welcome touch of salt and acidity. It helps elevate dishes as a garnish, or it can do the heavy lifting as the base sauce of a dish. I like to marinate chicken thighs in it, mixed with a touch of mirin or soy sauce. It is pretty inexpensive for how much you get in a jar, but I go through it so fast that I kind of wish they sold larger jars.

Great value for your money. Cost much more in my local supermarket. Taste great and is good quality.

Way to salty.

I put this in almost everything I eat. I will continue to order in the future. Spice level is not to hot more mild and the garlic is scrumptious.

This brand is somewhat saltier and less vinegary and maybe even a little less hot than another well-known brand involving a rooster. Not that I dislike that brand at all, but for my application, the vinegar profile was tripping me up in a specific project and this one critically has less of that. This version has plenty of garlic flavor, but it is more salty, so reduce your salt elsewhere in your recipe if you can. So now I'm getting incrementally closer to rectifying the long lamented discontinuation of 'Dali Chicken' of P.F.Chang fame.

I received a shattered jar, wrapped in bubble wrap, inside an Amazon bag. I will ask for a refund. Kinda bummed cause I was really looking forward to trying to cook my favourite dish.
