The RAP2 device looks simple, but there’s quite a bit in it. In order to correctly program a vehicle a Windows tablet is needed, with multiple OEM applications that have to be “managed” (updated or re-installed) a CarDAQ pass-thru device (so it is validated/compatible with OEMs) and a voltage maintainer (90 Amp, near DC current). It’s a professional tool, so it has to be robust and work on a maximum of vehicles and be well used, in a shop environment and be simple to use. That is a high requirement use-case, and this kit fulfills the need. Regarding the cost of the programming service, each programming requires a OEM application subscription which we do purchase behind the scenes, and requires a technician who is skilled at programming - and to fulfill that device remotely, which requires practice and skill.
