Italians of the Gold Country

Being of Italian decent, this is a very interesting publication. Especially since we are interested in California's gold country history. Many familiar names. Great photos. Very nice book.

I. Was delighted to see my great grandmother as a young mother. (She was married at twelve and had her first. Child at thirteen). I recognized so many names,but missed the stories that had made them so real to me. One of the Gallo sons was born in Jackson. the town of Jackson cleaned it,s self up rather then let the "mob" take over. the account seemed shallow to me, but maybe that is to be expected so many years have passes and like so many immigrant groups Italians were not eagerly accepted. I wounded have liked much more.
