A good guide to 12 steps for pain
A good guide to 12 steps for pain. I have an AA big book, which I use for everything, so a bit surplus to requirements.

Very effective help for people living with chronic pain and/or chronic illness
Well written, easy to follow, and full of insight. The Twelve Steps turn out to be very effective in helping people deal with the social and emotional difficulties of chronic illness and chronic pain, and with the difficult decisions that have become a part of our lives. This spiritual approach gets to the root of things and helps us value ourselves and others in the face of our losses.

WONDERFUL book. A game-changer for how I LIVE with chronic pain/illness.
I have been in CPA recovery for 4 years and this book has been such a welcome addition to the Chronic Pain Anonymous catalog of approved literature and one that we use in my meetings almost weekly. Applying the principles of the 12 Steps to living with chronic pain/illness can be a confusing prospect, but "Recipe for Recovery" spells it out very clearly and is very user-friendly even for those who have never before used the 12 Steps. The format of the book is also very easy to read for those who may have troubles reading due to brain fog or concentration issues. The font size, bullet-points, as well as the overall 'recipe-style' format of the book makes it very pleasing on the eye.The first half of the book explains the 12 Steps, how to apply them to living with chronic pain/illness, and gives several examples from members and how they applied that particular Step to their life. The second part of the book is full of stories from CPA members in recovery and what this wonderful 12 Step program has done for them.I have a FB support group for those who live with chronic pain/illness, and when they are looking for book recommendations, this book is always at the top of the list. Today I LIVE with my illness and pain with serenity and that is thanks to the 12 Steps of Chronic Pain Anonymous.A winner!
