Titan Books Ltd Dragon Age: The Masked Empire

If you're playing DA:I for the first time or, more likely, replaying it for the tenth time, this is a great little companion book that helps explain the backstory behind all of the political turmoil at the Winter Palace and gives some interesting insight into the motives and reasoning driving the decisions made by the major contenders for power. It's also a fun little piece of DA merch that looks pretty on a bookshelf. I'm happy I made the purchase.

Une super lecture pour les fans de Dragon Age qui souhaite comprendre les événements qui mènent à la guerre civile Orlaisienne et au bal d’Halamshiral au Palais d’Hiver lors de la quête « Yeux sombres et cœur cruel » de Dragon Age Inquisition. On en apprend aussi un peu plus sur Michel de Chevin et le démon Imshael, rencontrés à l’Emprise du Lion dans le jeu.

I really enjoyed this book. I read it before playing Dragon Age: Inquisition to tide me over until the game's release. To be honest, I only picked this book up and read it because I am a huge Dragon Age fan and wanted more content, even though the concept of the book didn't immediately appeal to me. The book, however, surprised me with the amount of suspense and action. In addition to the book being an entertaining read, it really enriched my experience of the game. Weekes has an engaging writing style and clearly has a flair for action scenes; I plan to check out his non-Dragon Age novels as well!
