Lotoo PAW S2 Portable USB DAC-AMP

I'm using my desktop setup less and less because this sounds just as good. There is no battery and no wireless connectivity to reduce interference this is a bare-bones dac/amp. Sound is very clean and natural. I paired this with some IEMs and I'm quite happy with this purchase. Very easy to install firmware updates and works with my iPhone. Here are some cons although very minor, there is slight popping sound when unplugging IEMs or headphones but its very quiet, sometimes switching tracks adds a delay to tracks, very slight delay and artifact sound when switching to other tracks too quickly. Very very minor nitpick this happens sometimes not every time. These cons aren't a deal breaker and I personally don't mind them just wanted to clarify that these issues do exist. no PMEQ just EQ presets I don't bother with them all that much. There is a line-out feature. You can't adjust volume on your iphone, you must adjust volume on the dongle, on PC however you can adjust the volume on the the music application like spotify or youtube but can only get as loud as the volume you set on the dongle. Also no HISS using the authentic 4.4 pentaconn from sony, comparing it to ifi go blu there is an audible hiss with 4.4 output but that has a battery and wireless LDAC connectivity.

Ended up returning. Had to use volume control on the device rather than my phone. Decent DAC but there are better options out there. The built in eq presets are kind of cheesy.

It's good. Sounds much better than standard dongle and louder. You could probably do fine getting one of the popular sub $100 options, but I like the brand and it works well \/'_'\/

Wow! The massive sound this dac produces is phenomenal. Soundstage opens up, mids are increased, bass and sub bass become more apparent with plenty of authority without muddying the sound. Treble is crisp without becoming harsh. Very good detail retrieval! Plug and play with my iPad Pro 11 into Sennheiser HD6XX using Qobuz and Amazon Music. For some reason, AHD sounds better with this dac over Qobuz. Highly recommend this product over the Dragonfly series and Hidizs S9 Pro. Get it!

The sound quality is good but the cables that comes with the unit is of poor quality and it stopped working after 3 days of use. I also started hearing distortion noise. I am using excellent quality IEM's so I know the noise came from either the cables or the unit. I lost confidence in the quality and return it. I replaced it with a Clarus Coda and I am very happy with it so far.
