Lady of the Mist (Legacy of the Blade Book 4)

Echo and her twin brother were stolen as babies by pirates. She was never told of her noble birth but instead is raised as a pirate. When her pirate ship is attacked by the King's men, she escapes with one them and is married to him immediately. Let the games begin when he finds out she has a son who was fathered by his brother. I loved this adventure by MS Rose.

Echo is a pirate and the only girl on board. Her father is the captain of the Seahawk. Garrrett is a Baron and captain of a ship for the King. Fighting the pirates he was captured. Later he and Echo escaped. Echo has a son four years old. A prisoner and she coupled once and then her father killed him. The child was on land being taken care of. The father of the child was Garrett’s brother. They retrieved the boy and went to his holdings. Garrett tricked Echo into marriage. They fell in love but later Echo was captured and back on the ship. Garrett went to save her but all the pirates were captured by another ship and were sentenced to hang. Garrett had Echo’s necklace and realized she was kidnapped as a baby and was a Nobel. After proving it in court she was spared.

Final book in the Legacy of the Blade series, does not disappoint..Garrett spies a ship in the mist and goes after it. Hoping that it is the pirate ship he has been following and that the man who scared him is there.Echo spies a ship in the mist and believes it is a Cinque Port Ship of the king. She gives a warning shout but too late it makes it's way to them and Garrett boards the pirate ship.Garrett is captured by the pirates and taken prisoner. Echo sees him and is reminded of her son's father who was captured and killed by her father 5 years ago.Garrett has endeared many hardships but this will the hardest of all. Echo has longed to have a better life for her son, but will she deny him his noble birth?When Garrett and Echo escape with her son Edgar, they hope to leave the pirates behind. With the help of the ladies at Manor Hythe, Echo learns the skills of a Lady while Garrett instructs her on table manners.With so many changes for both, will it be enough to protect Echo from the hangman' s noose? Will Echo' s father find her? What will happen to Edgar if both Garrett and Echo are gone?Just when you think you know there is an unexpected turn.

I enjoyed this book. I love the way Garrett fell in love with his Lady of the Mist. They went through a lot and she was the last lost sibling.

I chose this book as it is the 4th in the series. I absolutely loved getting to know all the characters and places. HEA are a must for me and it was great that this book included all the siblings and their spouses and children. Elizabeth Rose also writes little hints for us to follow on into her next series. Just love this.

I've enjoyed the stories and appreciated the research. Just one thing that bothers me--the use of the word with. Example: I would like to go with. Will you take me with? That sounds more like contemporary slang than medieval language usage. It really stood out in a jarring way in all the books. Why would you do this to an otherwise good book? Surely you know better.

A strong woman who could change, that came alive on the pages. Sea battles written that you can actually visualize. A wonderful story of family.

I really enjoyed Echo, she was brought up by pirates in a horrible environment, but she could fight and curse just like them. Poor Garrett had to be captured & then marry her. Exciting story with 2 explicit sex scenes, but tastefully crafted.

Really good story.

By the time I read this the 4th in the series the plot line was slightly predictable
