Outstanding
Yankee Air Pirates is the second best book devoted to USAF uniforms that I have read. I need to clarify that statement however, it is second best only to my book about USAF uniforms. Having written my book Oliver Bizet contacted me to discuss his idea for this book. He asked me about how it was to begin such an endeavor which I gladly described in excruciating detail. Fortunately he dismissed my description of the trials and tribulations and YAP is the product of his decision. He and his co-author, Francois Millard are to be commended in the depth of their research. YAP is a well thought out and researched book. The information contained is of interest to any USAF collector, historian or veteran. It is written in a clear concise manner that conveys all of the information about the items covered and is worthy of any reader who has an interest in the USAF or the Viet Nam war As to being published by Schiffer Military History publications there is no better publisher currently presenting such well formatted books. The photographs are sharp and well placed to highlight the informative narrative. I have to say that this book is now on my bookshelf right next to mine and if anyone asks I am proud to recommend YAP as essential to understanding the USAF commitment to the Viet Nam effort. Congratulations to them both for an outstanding success.

EXCELLENT!!!!!! I can't say it ANY better.
I haven't been able to put it down yet. It is worth EVERY penny! This book got me thinking about things I had long since buried in the recesses of my mind. I had left the Security Police career field due to an injury and was re-trained into Public Affairs (print journalism). At one base, one of my co-workers had been an Air Force Combat Controller in Vietnam. He continued to remind me rather rudely over a two year period about how Combat Controllers wore the blue beret first and we in Security Police had `stolen' it from them. Actually nothing was further from the truth as shown through this wonderful book.I was shocked at the variations of the uniforms and equipment. I spent the first weekend with this book pretty much of a time warp looking at things I haven't seen or used in 30+ years.I will look forward to Volume 2.Geo

Indispensable
