Arsenic!!!!
My wife and I just got a heavy metals blood test. My wife's arsenic levels were extremely high. Very concerning. Mine were not. The only difference is, is that she eats this rice (I don't eat grains). Otherwise, we eat extremely healthy, have a whole house air purifier, and reverse osmosis water filter. We did a little digging and this company got in trouble in the past for their arsenic levels. I should have known .. how can they sell their rice at such competitive prices.Buyer beware!! Arsenic is the "slow death" mineral and will slowly destroy your organs.

BUGS! BUGS! BUGS!
We've eaten over a hundred pounds of this rice and were willing to pay the price increases. It was the best long-grain brown we had found and the "Organic" label was a plus. Then this last 25 pound bag showed up. There were so many bugs in it that we could almost make a side dish of them. It's no exaggeration to say that there were up to 20 per pound. We washed and washed it, reading on the web that even if we missed a few they were a good source of protein (wry smile). Finally dumped out the rest when a half hour washing didn't evict all the little buggers from their edible home. The bugs, and the questionable ethics of calling non-organically grown product "Eco-Farm" tells me Lundberg's leadership is off the tracks. We'll look for a company that delivers on its promise.

Delicious, nutty, USA-grown black rice! As good or better than Lotus Foods forbidden rice
This is really good black rice. It is very nutty, rich, slightly chewy, and black as night. It is US grown, organic, and very high in anthocyanins (the health promoting component of black rice, blueberries, etc). The taste is just as good or better than Lotus Foods "Forbidden Rice" and this is not only a better price but grown in California as opposed to China. The actual grains of rice are slightly less black than Lotus Foods rice, which would indicate a slightly lower anthocyanin content, but it is not a big difference at all, so overall I find this product preferable. My usual water:rice ratio is a bit different than what the package states. I use a 2:1 ratio, so 2 cups of water per 1 cup dry black rice (and I use the "brown rice" setting on my rice cooker). I find that this produces a very nice texture and flavor. I've found that if you follow the bag instructions exactly, the rice is too firm and dry. 2:1 ratio is the way to go.

Terrible. Tasteless. Stick w/ organic short grain brown rice.
For the last half century, since a graduate student in architecture at UC Berkeley, we have eaten Lundberg's organic short grain brown rice. Up until a handful of years ago, the price was about 20 dollars for twenty pounds. Then the CA drought, prices tripled, then dropped down to doubled at about 24. dollars for twelve pounds.w/ this covid-19, the organic short grain brown rice shot up to astronomical prices, so we ordered this Lundberg eco-farm short grain brown rice.not good. eco-farm, a disappointment. the kernal itself is not the moist plush kernal of organic brown rice. it's sort of dry and crusty without the luxiouriousness of of the organic short grain brown rice flavour.a disappointment. paid a bundle for this bag, and the price is just shooting up higher than ever.Suggest splurge the few dollars more and get Lundberg's prized organic short rain brown rice ... a world of difference.wish we could return this bag of inedible instead. the dregs are this eco farmed...

Not as advertised -- it is not from CA but ...
Not as advertised -- it is not from CA but from the southern United States. Consumer reports recommends eating brown rice only from California, India and Pakistan since these sources produces rice lower in the dangerous form of arsenic.

While the rice is technically still good this should not have happened
The product was out of date by several months when it arrived. While the rice is technically still good this should not have happened.

One ‘off’ bag after many years of excellent product; would still recommend this rice.
I’ve been buying this product for many years without any problem at all and have been very satisfied with it.For the first time ever in early Dec 2017, we received a bag that smelled ‘off’...like wet burlap, maybe even rotten burlap. I tried rinsing the rice many times but that did not get rid of the smell. The cooked texture of the rice was drier and crumbly. I inspected the bag closely for bugs but there were none. However there were grains that were partially yellow and brown.Customer service has been excellent.I still recommend this product because:1. For the most part it has been consistently good for many years.2. Buying in bulk is economical and good for the environment.3. Bag is paper, not plastic.

Great quality, amazing taste
Lundberg has the best quality rice I have tried, a go to option when it comes to my pantry. The wild rice blend packs tons of flavor, earthy, nutty, complex and almost overpowering. I love it mostly for salads or with a protein with mild flavor (chicken, white fish), since the rice such strong full-bodied aroma. The bag contains a fairly balanced mix of brown, red, black and wild rice, but the most quantity is of the long grain brown rice. The wild rice will 'pop', but otherwise the rice blend keeps a chewy firm texture once cooked. I really like the bite it has. It's a rice that's great both hot and cold. Personally I prefer cooking the rice 40 minutes, rather than 45 (as instructed). The bag has a re-closable velcro press-lok, but I still prefer transferring the rice to an airtight container.I also like that the brand partnered with Terracycle, so I can send all my empty bags to be recycled.

Not organic
Lundberg Organi Short Grain Brown Rice, 11.3 kg I'm not sure why these is the word Organi in the rice description...my bad, I thought the product was organic and was excited about the price...but I read it wrong, it is not organic, so not such a great price after all. The rice itself is fine but it feels that the description is rather misleading. Lundberg Organi Short Grain Brown Rice, 11.3 kg

INFESTED WITH BUGS!!!!!!
I bought two large bags of this rice...went to repackage it for storage and found it’s completely infested with bugs!! I’m not talking ‘just a few bugs’, it’s infested with them!! I will not ever buy dry goods from Amazon again! Disgusting!!

Great product!
Good quality. We eat it often so it's more practical to buy this large size than buying the small bags at the grocery store. We really like it.
