Better than the ones I have purchased before, easy installation after trimming the receptical to fit my truck

Easy to use and convenient

We bought these to use on our vintage camper. The wiring to the camper lights was destroyed. These mounted and plugged in easily and stayed in place even on some pretty rough roads.

Lights are bright and relatively easy to use though magnets not as strong as I hoped. One light popped off and fell into the trailer on my first trip. (Note - old trailer with bad suspension so it bounces a lot when empty.) The big issue is the right and left are not marked and not wired properly. The wiring comes out of the side of one light and connects to the other. Think this. CAR------0----0. You'd think that first 0 would be the Left light so the wire comes from the right of the light and over the trailer to the other light. But no, that's actually the right light. So, the wire comes out of the light on the outside of the of the trailer and needs to wrap around the light to head back to the other side of the trailer, wrap around the other light and terminate. This causes you to lose about 12 inches in width. I thought it was incorrectly wired so I ordered another and had the same issue. I do like the lights so will rewire it myself but can't give more than 3 stars due to the defective design. Be sure you check them before you start driving! (Good practice anytime.)

ProsThese are nice lights and bright. Easy to install. Put the on a light bar while my dirt bike is on the camper. The lights worked on my truck and camper right out of the box.ConsI think the right and left lights were wired wrong. They work fine but the wires come out of the lights in a way that they could be damaged if the light bar falls over while in storage. The wiring should face each other and be wired toward the middle not to the outside opposite each other. This leads the wires exposed to damage. Not good. This is something that should have not been overlooked.

These are a great value. The install for my small aluminum boat was problematic because the height of the lights is too high for the space between the trailer and hull. I hammered sheet metal to a stud and strapped the stud across the top of the stern. I used the excess strap length to cross over the base of the lights. That works really well. The super bright lights made it look like a circus was coming to town. When I launched the boat, I took it all down, then put the lights directly on the trailer. The connector cover doesn't fit my truck. I had a pigtail that worked and it gave me an extra foot. Otherwise, I would have to shave the rubber off the connector. This will work better on my open bow boat trailer. Also, now I know my truck wiring is ALL good. I'll repair the trailer wiring and these can serve as emergency lights. What a relief!!
