An insulting price
Part of me is torn over giving this listing 5 stars, because I absolutely adore Obitsu dolls, but I'm deeply insulted by a company that would sell a 20 dollar doll for 50 dollars, listing it as an art mannequin and saying you have to buy the heads and bodies separately, so this is a good deal. They're lying. It's true that sometimes you have to buy the heads and bodies separately, but even with shipping, you would never have to pay almost 50 dollars for both pieces combined. Any store that sells you the bodies headless will also offer a selection of heads for you to choose from, and the heads themselves are only around 5 dollars. So this doll shouldn't be more then 30 dollars before shipping. Also, these dolls aren't artist mannequins. It's true that you can use them for that, but they're meant to be customized, painted, and have their hair rooted so that the owner can have a doll that is an extension of their imagination. Yes, they are something that can be used as a creative outlet, but in a different way then they're advertising them for. Don't limit yourself to just thinking of these as a drawing model. This company is ripping you off and insulting you by charging you this much. They should be as ashamed as I am disgusted. Find an Obitsu from another seller who won't take you for all you're worth and be glad you got past this scam.If you want a non-amazon resource for purchasing these dolls at the price they really are, try [...] it's not Amazon, but it's perfectly safe, and lists versions of the Obitsu dolls that aren't sold on Amazon.

Obitsu best of the models
I initially bought one of those wooden artist's manikins, but it didn't really flex much. Pretty worthless for what I need. I am a biomechanist and do forensic work which includes cases of falls, pedestrian/car events, etc. I need to use a model to simulate what-ifs, so the model needs to be detachable from its stand and needs to be able to get into positions a real human body could assume. This one does a great job. I also bought a female Art S Buck model which I also like (I gave it 5 stars also). It is nearly half the price, but not quite as nice as the Obitsu.

Good articulated pose artists mannequin model
This is a good price for a sturdy multi-jointed mannequin I use for a sculpture/figure model. It is sturdy and easily holds a pose for most anything a human body can assume. I do not think this it will stand up as a toy for a child. It has too many joints that would break under the normal play a child would experience. It is much more articulated than the wooden artist mannequins and in this case will stand or position on a magnetic disc (included) so the pose is held naturally. It is also scaled to proportion of a medium to muscular male physique. I find it very much an asset in my art and well suited to my tasking. You can later get very well priced accessories like other hands and a couple different heads if you wish from the Japanese site. This comes with an English instruction insert as the packaging is all in Japanese. There is also a female modeled equivalent available for similar pricing.
