Love these tool boxes, worth the extra money! I have a business with several sets of tools, I use them for all my tool boxes! I’ve ordered from this company before no issues. Although there was no signs of any damage on the outside and it was delivered with care, One of the two tool boxes had a small ding on the side. I would have to assume this must have happened from the manufacturer? I’m keeping it with the small ding though. These tool boxes hold up for many many years! I will use this seller if I need another in the future!

At first glance 140 bucks seems steep for a portable tool box but it's really not, This is NOT your average big box store tool box. It's built for heavy use with much sturdier latches and hinges and the steel in the body of the box is a heck of a lot thicker than the flimsy throw away Chinese boxes being sold now under brand names that used to mean quality. The Kennedy boxes are built to last and will probably be in fine shape to pass down to your kid when you no longer need it. I hate spending money (OK, I'm cheap) but Kennedy has earned my business and proved their products are worth the asking price. This is my third Kennedy box and the previous two are about 10 years old and still holding up and doing their job just fine so when I needed more tool storage Kennedy was the obvious choice. Since these things are built to last a lifetime the cost per day turns out to be pretty inexpensive and the latches don't break and spill your tools all over the place. Mine are loaded heavy all the time and the latches and hinges take it in stride. Besides, They're MADE IN THE USA! That's a sadly rare thing these days.

This is a nice classic heavy duty tool box! I highly recommend it. I work construction and this should last me many years to come.

This box is a very well made tool box. Thick gauge steel, solid clasps, and it was perfect out of the box. The lid fits right and the paint is flawless. The included tray is also well made. This is an industrial box meant to last years. I bought it as present to myself for finishing my Apprenticeship schooling. I wanted something I can lock, made in the USA, and last me my entire career. It's solid, and pretty stout even empty. Won't ever need another box to take to work. I also love the old school look to it.

today's tool boxes seem to be plastic boxes filled with gimmicky compartments to hold items. Also, Refreshing not to have to purchase something from one of those brands like Millwaukie, or Channel Lock that have a complete line up of tools that monopolize the hardware stores. I prefer my tools to be a collection of the best items, with their own stories, not just the color coordinated offerings of one brand (though Makita may be the exception to this). I sometimes use old tools just because I can appreciate the build quality of them. With this Kennedy tool box, it is an opportunity to buy a vintage quality item - that is brand new.

I grew up with my parents having Kennedy toolboxes and they were the envy of everyone at my parents' business. I have always wanted a Kennedy and finally, decades later, I got one and am loving it. It is heavy but keeping in mind that these boxes are the ultimate in heavy duty and prestige. Absolutely perfect.

Was angry when I received item. While the product on Amazon shows the inner tray in brown powder coat matching the box the item received has a black tray and is sized too small so that a 1/2 inch gap exist between tray and box in the front to back direction. Originally I was angry at the seller but I checked the item on Fastenal which is an official distributor for Kennedy. It correctly pictures box with the black tray. It appears that Kennedy has at some point cut corners on this item instead of raising the price. A pity but I have learned my lesson about them. Next is the issue of Amazon using old and inaccurate legacy pictures to sell an item. It is fraudulent in my opinion. Caveat Emptor!
