BiohomePlus Filter Media (2lbs)

From a visual inspection, this filter media looks like it has lots of surface area (roughness) for bacteria to grow. The nitrates in my salt water aquarium were climbing (80 ppm) so I added two pounds of this to my existing filter media, and then also added some starter bacteria.The bacteria that eat nitrates take a long time to multiply enough to be effective (1-3 months), and after 6 weeks my nitrates have dropped to about 25 ppm - which is a good sign.I can't necessarily give all the credit to this new media however since I also gave my old media a rinse and gave the whole tank a good cleaning at the same time I added this product.Without a microscope, I can't tell how much bacteria is growing on the media, but I am pretty sure this is an effective product.I will certainly use it again in the future.

Ich bin begeistert von den Produkt. Natürlich wollte gerne ausprobieren biohome-biorock, aber finde nicht.(andere Thema). Also zufrieden!!!

I have a flu Al 407 canister filter I use this in. I love the biological benefits this gives you.

I used this media in a Fluval FX4 canister filter along with the Biohome starter balls as recommended by the manufacturer, for approx 45-50 gal of water in a 90 gal tank containing my two large, very messy, aquatic turtles, that has always been a huge challenge to keep clean. After trying every other bio media out there for years, I was finally able to establish a consistent bacteria balance in the water for the first time with these products. Awesome! A little pricey, but well worth the investment!
