My best buy ever
The media could not be loaded. I've had this tap for 12 months now & as happy with it now as the day I got it! Instead of needing to have the heating on for hot water, then waiting for the combi boiler to heat the water flowing through it, with just a connection to the cold water supply & a plug socket, I have hot water on demand, all year round, within 2 or 3 seconds, with no water wasted & far cheaper energy costs than the gas & electric used by a combi boiler. The heater within the tap is small compared to a central heating boiler, so the lower the water flow, the quicker the water will heat, if it's getting to hot too quickly, open the tap more & increase the flow. If you want to fillna bucket or completely fill the sink, it might take a little longer so just be patient. While this is fantastic for sinks and basins, but wouldn't be feasible for filling a bath, as seen some people complaining about in comments & reviews, it would take far too long to fill, by which time the water would have cooled; it isn't designed for this. You would need a much larger electric heater, at least the size of an electric shower unit, rather than the size of a tap, or one with a tank to achieve this. The tap is easy to install, with an easy choice of using a socket above or below the countertop as the plug isn't molded onto the cable. It only uses a cold water supply, so if you are replacing a standard mixer tap, you will need a stop end after the hot water isolation valve to ensure there isn't any leaks under your sinks, as ball valves are prone to leak over time. To connect to the cold water supply, I used the same 15mm flexible pipe from the mixer tap, fitting it to a 15mm to 1/2" adapter, costing less than £1.50 (just make sure it either comes with a seal ring or you add one, or water will leak out along the threads) or you could buy a new 15mm to 1/2" female tap connector. The only negative to this unit is how cheaply the swivel of the tap spout is achieved, with it just having a plastic washer rather than a bearing, so, although it does swivel, it won't feel like any other tap you've used. Silicone grease definitely helps, especially if you're struggling to assemble the spout onto the tap body when it arrives (it seems a very tight fit at first) but over a year of daily use it hasnt leaked at all. When the water temp is up in the high 50s or 60°C, usually only when completely filling the sink, watch if you need to move the spout as it too will be the same temperature!

Lead too short.
Product description states that the cord is about 59 inches long. It's more like 36". This meant I could not mount the unit in the correct orientation. On the plus side, it's a very useful bit of kit for a bedroom with no hot water installed.

Easy install 3kW heater, with a short power lead.
Install is quite simple to a cold water supply. The power lead is quite short so you will need a socket close by. It also draws a hefty 3kW power so it needs a wall socket, no shared extension.Water heats up fast and the temperature display seems accurate. Water flow remains fast. The fitted nozzle is quite directional but the spout angle is odd.

Works well
Easy to fit, gives hot water for washing up, the heater mechanism is inside the tap so there is no tank to fit. Looks good. No problems so far

Fire hazard.
The smell it was giving off let me know there was an issue somewhere. The thing leaks all over the place, which has nothing to do with the actual plug melting. Good thing about having an electrician in the family means that I know it was this product that was the issue. If you want hot water at a trickle, this is the tap for you. There is next to zero pressure in the output when it's on hot. It was a cheap resolution that could have became fatal if I hadn't caught the electrical fault. Don't take risks like I did with it.
