Great so far. 3D print an organizer
I haven’t seen the original GG in the flesh (that seems white, this is almond color) but this seems solid with the same accessories (including spares) as the original. Glad to have saved half off from the sale price of the original!I used a GG setup video on YT for instructions. Key is to make sure initial brackets fully center on your wheel head, in fact there are tiny measurement marks & notches that help you ensure the brackets are each equally far along. If like me you keep bat pins attached, ensure it’s even and under a section. You’ll notice your ceramics are slightly off center otherwise.I found a free 3D print to organize accessories which helps loads (I needed to widen holes slightly with a drill for rod attachments). I’m new to ceramics as a hobby and centering & trimming was frustrating, so thrilled to find this.

Seems nice
Seems to work well and it’s a lot cheaper than the giffin grip. I’ve never used the name brand so I can’t compare. I’m giving 4 stars because there were no instructions at all. The plus side is that it’s so similar to the giffin grip that I watched a tutorial for it and it was the exact same process for putting it together.

Game changer
If you’re used to manually centering and sticking little blobs of clay to hold your pot in place this really changes the game! I love it. I used it once so far, so I’m not sure about wear and tear. The only downside is it didn’t come with directions, but it has all of the same pieces and set up as the giffin grip so just look up a tutorial on that. 10/10!

As far as I can tell, it is PRECISELY like the more expensive brand.
Works perfectly. Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Includes a full set of the needed accessories. Looks durable. Contains some spare O-rings in case the originals wear out. I would buy it again though I might send $20 to the Giffen company in case they've lost sales to Chinese copycats.

Sturdy and easy to use
Despite the lack of instructions, a simple YouTube search brought up a video and from there, it was pretty easy to assemble. The most important part is making sure you get it perfectly centered beforetightening the clamps.

Well Made but .... NOT for Left Hand Use
The package arrived open and without instructions. However, using the info on the product page I was easily able to assemble and attach to my wheel head. Easy Peasy. The material is all very strong and durable. I happen to have (3) leather hard pieces and was eager to use this trimming base. Here is where the problems arise. This trimming tool seems to have been designed only for right handed use.As soon as I started my wheel, the trimming tool rotated open, the grips flew off, and so did my pottery. Being left handed, my wheel spins clockwise.I was dismayed.I then tested the tool with the wheel head turning counterclockwise and the grips stayed in place. It's a bummer for me but if your a righty, you should be good to go!

Appears to be exactly like the name brand one.
So far it is looking good! I was going to order the "name brand" one but just didn't have the money and couldn't justify the cost. I am trying to speed up production and a quick trimming option was definitely appealing. I did watch a video to see how to put this together since the instructions were only in Chinese. I hate buying products from China but it appears that this is where they are made (even the well known version). It went together just fine, appears to be strong enough and well made. I did need to find a solution to catch the trimmings, since this sits well above the wheel-head and trimmings will fly. My solution was a cheap flexible cutting board (bendable) from the dollar store. Spent three dollars and will tape them together and set in my splash-pan.I will update if there are any issues or problems.
