A great pair of books for people interesting in top bar beekeeping
I've had bees in Langstroth hives for two years, and wanted to find a method of keeping bees that was less intrusive (to the bees) and required minimal chemical/antibiotic use. I became interested in top bar hives, read Les Crowley's book on top bar beekeeping, and all of Phillip Chandler's books on the topic - all very helpful and interesting. But these two books by Christy Hemenway are just outstanding. Clearly written, nice touches of humor, sympathetic to how confusing the subject can be to relatively new beekeepers - very accessible and accurate. Highly, highly recommend! (I bought, and would recommend buying) both books. I'm absolutely loving my top bar hives, by the way. Exactly what I was hoping for!

Top bar beekeeping in the 2nd year
Great information for the second year of top bar beekeeping. Beginning beekeeping information is fairly easy to find, but this book gives the deeper knowledge you need to keep taking care of your bees! Very easy to read with pertinent pictures and graphs. I highly recommend it.

Christy Hemenway has written the most concise books on Top Bar Beekeeping. Thanks for the fast shipping. I could hardly wait to get it. This book will be very helpful in our second year of beekeeping.

No Science. Just Propaganda
Lots of preaching of an unproven method of beekeeping. Lots of claims with no scientific basis to back any thing up.
