Not my favorite...hard to watch
I get that he had a life altering experience last season and they're trying to turn him into the guy we're used to seeing, but I just didn't care for the portrayal of the change. I never found Morse maudlin, but perhaps he needed to get through this to get to the other side. I love the show, so can't diss it too much. Just didn't really care for it until almost the end of the season...perhaps if they'd added a couple more episodes I wouldn't have felt so negative about it.

Bittersweet
There is only 3 episodes rather than 4 in a season. The this last one left so much unanswered that if they don’t have another season it will be sad and frustrating.

Compatibility Problem! Ordered this DVD in March, 2023 as a gift to be given May 19th. We put it in our Oregon USA DVD player, inserted DVD and a message came up on television saying PLAYBACK NOT POSSIBLE. We examined the DVD container and there is no incompatibility warning. I will attempt to seek a remedy with Amazon, since there was no indication on the 'purchase' page about this DVD not working in USA.

Season 8 of Endeavour was quite disappointing.the first 2 shows were abismal. The 3rd show was back to the Endeavour standard. Too bad the first 2 shows in season were picked. Maybe season 9 will be better.

No US version of Series 8 of Endeavour available.
I placed this order knowing that it might not play on US DVD players.It does not - my bad.I am very curious to know why ITV chose to not make this Series 8 of Endeavour available in the US.PBS usually runs Endeavour. It has not and it is not streaming on Masterpiece or the other streaming services.I am a big fan - what's up???

Series well received, excellent acting and storylines for pre-Morse series.

A favourite
Another outstanding series. First class acting and building up to Endeavour becoming Morse. Hopefully a few more series to go before that transition. Waiting for the next series now …..
