It Works!
I could be a spokesperson for this! I use to have hot flashes 2 or 3 every hour. Nighttime. Daytime. It doesn't matter. I take 2 meds to help reduce the numbers. Before Embr, with my pills, I'd get maybe 10/day, and about 4 at night. So 15-20/day with meds. When you start using it, it doesn't provide relief instantly. Give it about a week or two to really see the difference it makes. I doubted but had too much money in my HSA in Dec, so I got it. It works wonders! I haven't had to clean off my forehead from all the sweating in weeks orrr if I haven't charged it up. When you feel it starting in your head, hit that button a few times and the hot flash dissipates into nothing. It just goes away. I've always tried to play the game with myself, how long can I keep my blanket on at night before I HAVE TO kick them off. I never got through a full hot flash before they come off. Now, don't even have to move. I push that button, and I'm good. I'm just an ordinary female that's TRULY struggled with hot flashes for more than 10 years (did ya know, for some of us, they may never rarely go away!). I want women to know, this thing is a bit odd. Trust me. I don't do fads and I don't jump on bandwagons. This does work. I've bumped it a few times, couple scratches. I'm not a fan of the band. It opens up sometimes and slides down my wrist. Battery life is somewhat decent. I am very pleased with this purchase!

I’m really surprised — UPDATED
Update 9/2024: I still love this, but it had to be replaced once because it wouldn’t connect to the app, and now neither of them stay connected to the app. I still wear it because it’s great during hot flashes and also has the warmer function to take the chill off. It only works for the shorter sessions that are a couple minutes long since there’s no app capability. I’ve tried dozens of times to get either one to connect and they just don’t after a while. The original one got replaced because it wouldn’t stay connected and now the replacement also doesn’t connect. This is a functionality issue they need to work on. I’d still buy it because it’s an absolute lifesaver during a hot flash using the manual setting. But it’s disappointing that I can’t use all the functionality it’s supposed to have. Also, I’d buy it directly from the company because Amazon is considered a third party seller and they don’t want to honor the warranty if purchased through Amazon. Original review: This is a better purchase than I expected. It remains to be seen how long it lasts, I’ve only had it for just over a month. I bought this for support during hot/nauseous flashes. I will say that it doesn’t “make you cooler” or warmer, but it does distract you and make you more comfortable. I don’t really understand the “why”, but I’ve been using it on the all night cooling setting every night and it helps me sleep a little more soundly. I’ve used the warm wave in cool rooms and it’s ok. It kind of takes away the shivering feeling, which is helpful. I’ve used the cooling in different situations and I wish it would continue to flash as cool as it does when you first turn it on. It seems to only be super chilled for the first wave, and I want it to be that chilly for every wave. I don’t think it’s supposed to be that cold every time, but I wish it would. It’s large and could be a little more discreet, but I don’t care since it works. Overall, it’s a solid purchase as it provides some relief. I’ll continue to use and recommend it as long as it lasts.

So disappointed
The concept is great if it worked. I don’t know where to begin. It’s not too big if you’re wondering I wore it with my Iwatch same wrist. It’s just not super comfortable because you need it to fit snugly to be in contact with your skin and if you are menopausal you wear it all day. I really thought this would sense when your pulse starts to race signaling the start of a hot flash and the cooling process would kick in but no such luck. Other reviewers said it gets hot that is true it heats up to begin the cooling process. Now the cooling is just not cold enough nor long enough to stop your hot flash. Using it with the app is great because I could never remember which button does what. However, if you wake up middle of the night sweating expecting facial recognition to work and it doesn’t, its too dark to see to type your password because you are near sighted then the app not as helpful. I love the idea of the 8 hour cycle I use that at night thinking it will prevent the flashes from starting if I were constantly cooling but that was the biggest dissatisfaction. First the bright blue light stays on for the full 8 hours I found it annoyingly bright. Next it will kill the battery around 4 am. Then the unit will overheat duh the light and it’s motor going for 8 hours was not tested properly this thing is more hot than cold. I did not test the hot feature I’m a walking oven. When you’re asleep it’s hard to keep the unit from being in contact with your body and that also contributes to it overheating. The bottom line - this will NOT prevent a hot flash from happening and the cooling is not cool enough or long enough to stop it before you are covered in sweat. A total fail I’m so sad

Makes A Difference
I have been dealing with heat intolerance for the last two years which recently got worse. I saw an ad for this product on Instagram and waited until there was a sale to purchase it. Being able to use the app is key to the performance of this device. I did have a problem where it wouldn’t connect once and I had to delete and repair the device with my phone. Otherwise, it’s been reliable. I’ve used both the heating and cooling functions and have found them to be beneficial. The cooling works better when I’m indoors, but that is probably more that it’s not having to work against higher temperatures when I’m indoors. I’ve found the cooling comfort setting has been helpful in stressful situations, too. I do use the one-hour cooling setting to fall asleep and have found I sleep better than before. I haven’t had a night sweat in a while. That said, I don’t love the wrist band it comes with. It’s a bit uncomfortable and difficult to keep in place. It also takes a long time to charge fully, and an extra charger is $50, so I won’t be buying one. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. It seems worth the investment to me for the improvement to my comfort level that I’m experiencing.

Needs Work
I bought this for my mother for Mother’s Day, because she had been complaining of frequent night time hot flashes and consequent discomfort that would wake her up multiple times in the night. My mom wore it pretty consistently for about two weeks, and had unfortunately quite a few complaints about the watch, which ultimately led to its return: 1) By the time the watch started to do what it needed, the hot flash was done. Her hot flashes last about 2-5mins. By the time she woke from sleep, pressed the button, and it kicked in; the worse of the hot flash already passed. It expedited her cool down but did not reduce the worse of her discomfort. She did believe it -may- benefit someone with longer hot flashes, but it did not help her particular type of them. During the day, it helped little more because she could preempt it, but her main problems were at night and had no benefit. 2) The device got hot after use. At 3 min, the watch would be warm, at 30 minutes, it got so hot that the heat ran into the band. My mom found it very counter productive, especially when the cooling stopped and the hot device sensation remained. She even suspected it may have triggered another hot flash at one point. This was definitely her biggest complaint, and I agree that the device needs work if the machinery cannot handle the advertised intervals of use. 3) It doesn’t stop the frequency of hot flashes. The product is used for reactive purposes only. And even that was flawed per (1) and (2). Ultimately, she found minimal to no difference in her comfortable levels using this device. Especially at night. She did not think it was worth the 300$ dollars, and recommended I return it. Hope this helps people.

Love it
I’ve had this a couple weeks it works so well it’s amazing I’m always cold at work and since I I got my ember wave I have been warm and comfortable. The it stays charged all day. The band does need improvement the magnet closure is not strong enough and constantly slips. The band also snags clothes if you’re not careful.

Against all reason this actually works! UPDATE - I'm adding to review at end*
How can a tiny cold spot on my wrist/forearm stop the hot flashes I have been battling for years? This is crazy! I have been on estradiol hrt patches for too long, and have tried to taper off -- reducing stregth and adding menopause relief supplements (estroven, amberen ...) with no relief until now. I was skeptical and figured I'd try it for a couple of weeks and return it. I won't be doing that!! It was charged when it arrived so I read the very short and simple printed instructions and put it on. At the onset of a hot flash I double tapped the little button on the left for cooling. Immediate waves of delicious iciness kicked in. At first it was a little confusing. I felt I was kind of having a hot flash but was distracted by that wonderful cold feeling. At the time I thought wow, if I had one of these on each limb, and on a necklace and a belt -- this could work. I continued throughout the day using it. When I downloaded the app and looked at the options I decided I better charge it so I could use the All Night Session. That's when I realized IT REALLY IS WORKING because I had another hotflash without the embrwave2 on and I felt a desperate need to run and get it off the charger and back on my wrist. I have been using it for 5 days and 4 nights now. The downside is that it doesn't feel great to have it positioned above my wrist, but the band does keep it securely positioned in place. That is small price to pay for the relief from the torment of hotflashes though, so I unreservedly give the embrwave2 5 stars! Lol this may work through some kind of self hypnosis. I am one of those people who can't be hypnotized BUT I think for me this works because I become so fixated on the icy sensation that my mind overrides the hot flash. I really don't care if it's a placebo or if there is a real physiological basis - it works for me.* *After using embrwave2 for about 6 or 7 weeks I need to add to this review. It DOES WORK just as I described above. The problem lies in the 'All Night Session' which is a programmable setting using the app. This session is supposed to deliver a milder 7-9 hour cooling session to alleviate hot flashes that wake you up. It only works for ME for about 4 hours, and unfortunately my 4-5:00 am hotflash still disrupts my sleep. After much contact with customer support it was determined the embrwave2 is still functioning properly. The problem was not a battery issue, it is a self protection mode to keep it from overheating, so it shuts itself off. There are suggestions to keep that from happening; not being fastened too tight, keep it out from under covers ... but those didn't work for me. All that said, I just skip the all night session and tap the button when I need. It does not overheat and shut down just from wearing it all night, it's just when it's programmed for the 'all night' session.

Game changer
I suffer from debilitating hot flashes and was desperate for some relief. I went through 5 yrs of fertility treatment and after I had my daughter at 40, hello hot flashes. I had a hysterectomy at 43 and still struggle w horrible hot flashes. I am miserable. I purchased this product and am amazed at how well it works. When I feel one coming in I tap the buttons and it helps stop them in their track. Looking at the feed, it looks like I use it 2-3 time per hour while awake. It certainly doesn’t prevent hot flashes but helps w the relief. Someone asked me what kind of watch I was wearing. It’s not pretty but doesn’t look too bad. And if it helps I’ll wear it. I’ve been working w several doctors to figure out how to balance my system/hormones. It’s an ongoing battle but this has give me a little relief and for that I am grateful. As far as night time, I don’t know how it works because my amazing husband found this great thing called a bed jet that is also not cheep but so worth it. It keeps my bed at the temp I want it and can move air in the sheet all night long. My hubby loves to blast the heat until he gets in bed so he doesn’t have to enter a cold bed. I love the cool feature that combats my hot flashes at the touch of a button any time during the night. I am thankful I found both of these, my life is way more manageable.
