Scientific ExplorerHeavenly Hair Kit

I like the premise that there is a little bit of science in everything, including grooming products.But this kit barely touches science.I also didn't care for the message it seems to give about what science should be to little girls.I would have liked showing the chemistry and biology involved in figuring out what substances work well with human hair and skin versus what doesn't and why. Also, it would be nice if it was packaged in a way for all kids to enjoy, and if there was more content about chemistry, biology, experimentation, research, etc.Instead it is a box of fluff.

Grrrr....does not come w/a funnel, which IS NEEDED. The hair wrap is cute BUT the elastic that is used to go around a button to secure hair wrap, became unsewn the first time used. The project took ONLY 5 minutes to complete WITHOUT adult supervision. Kids over 8 years old will hardly find this project fulfilling. Not messy. only 3 steps to make shampoo and the same 3 steps to make conditioner. Instruction pamphlet has some NOT much interesting facts about hair. And a few 1,2,3 experiments.

This was fun while mixing up the Shampoo with the thickener and adding the scent to the Shampoo and Conditioner. Unfortunately, the only interaction at that point is to use the product. The actual activity only lasted about fifteen minutes. I would have liked a bit more science and interaction from this toy.

My little girl LOVED it. Her only complaint was that there was only enough to do 1 set of shampoo/conditioner. Some similar products allow for making more than 1 set of whatever they are creating.

Well, it is heavenly.

The instructions were a bit flimsy. The nicest part of the kit was the hair wrap. It has enough product to make hair product for a couple of washes.

Limited activities for this kit.
