The Girl She Was: 'I absolutely love Alafair Burke – she's one of my favourite authors.' Karin Slaughter

I have read all the Ellie Hatcher books, so her appearance in this story is fab, however, it's a great standalone read / introduction to Alafair's writing skill. A book that keeps you reading "just one more chapter" - it is so good.

This was going along fairly well - not exactly Tolstoy, but decent enough to keep you reading - and things seem to be wrapping up in a pretty acceptable manner, when, BAMM, a soap opera coda gets sticky-taped on.The 3 stars is for the story up to the coda.

I couldn’t put it down. The twists keep,coming till the very end. It’s the best yet in a great series
