Carlo Acutis: A Meaningful Life
S**N
Uninformative
There is a distinct lack of biographical details in the book. There is more factual information on Wikipedia. The book rambles along repeating itself, making claims about Acutis' character without backing it up with concrete examples. There is a distinct lack of references to people, places and times. Hagiography at its worst!

Not 'expertly chronicled' as the blurb says
I had recently visited the relic of Blessed Carlo in Derry, Ireland and having read Mons.Anthony Figueiredo's short book'5 steps to being a saint', I immediately wanted to read everything that was written about him. I was very disappointed and often frustrated when reading Anne Elizabeth's book. As many reviewers stated it would definitely need to be edited and corrected for errors. The author makes vague, meandering and puzzling statements at times. She asserts that Blessed Carlo battled Cancer for 3 years while the truth is that he was ill with promoyelocytic leukaemia for about 13 days. 3 pages later the author states ' a couple of months before his death, Carlo came down with cancer! She makes many rambling , unsubstantiated statements like ' he helped out with any animal he could find because he knew what it felt to be helpless and in need of someone's help'.She claims that Carlo's parents were devout Catholics while his mother herself stated she had been in the church for her First Communion, Confirmation and Wedding, for Carlo's Baptism and at no other time. However both Carlo's parents began practicing their faith as their child drew them back to the Church.Carlo died on 12October 2006 while the author states that he took ill on this day.She names Blessed Carlo's mother as Giuliana while her name's was really Antonia. She claims that Pope Francis canonised Blessed Carlo (page 84). This has not yet happened.Anne Elizabeth's desire to spread the good news about Blessed Carlo is undeniable and I commend her enthusiasm and effort. However the inaccuracies, vagueness and, in many cases, lack of evidence for claims made, make it an unsuitable read for anyone who wants to come to know Carlo Acutis in depth.

Poorly researched
Having read a number of books of blessed Carlo I found so many factual mistakes in this book, it was poorly written and I would not recommend it.

Truly Inspiring
I'm truly inspired by this young man's life and how he continues to impact the world long after his death. reading his story makes me want to be a better person which is more than what I could ask for from a book.I gave it four stars for a few reason:1) The book is fairly repetitive and could use the help of an editor to clean it up to make it a more enjoyable read.2) There were some claims of miraculous healing from others after he had passed who either attended his funeral or prayed to him. I found these parts less than believable (as they were presented in the book) and somewhat distracting.

Almost a saint
Was wanting to know more about this young man, almost a saint, so I ordered this one. I'm not sure, but it seems like it was written by a teenager. The same phrases and language was used over and over again. It was not very informative. It did not tell his activities with his classmates, how they admired him. I wanted some good knowledge about him, but didn't get it in this book.
