Works better than I though but "noise-cancelling" is not accurate
I did not expect these to block out very much noise. I wear earplugs often--any time i'm in a loud bar or music show, when i practice drums or am on an airplane. I wanted to try something new and these are easier to take in and out than the foam earplugs, and they don't make my ears itch like some of the ones that go in deeper. I wore them to sleep since my roommate makes a fair amount of noise in the mornings and to my surprise i slept through it for the first time. Also they are comfortable to sleep in-- because they rest flat in your ear, you can sleep on your side without disrupting them, and they've never fallen out.I wouldn't wear these while playing drums because I don't think they'd block out enough noise, and i think they advertise as "noise-cancelling" because earplugs block out sound--that's what they do-- but these are not "noise-cancelling", they don't create any kind of seal or do whatever those big over-ear headphones do which creates some kind of pressure seal or something. Also i just wore them on an international flight and they worked but because of the plastic material, it does feel like by the time i take them out my ear is like... wet inside? like after i've taken a shower or something. I think it would be like wearing something plastic anywhere on your skin! The case is cute and discreet (but black means easier to lose). I love that there is a mirror bc they can be tricky to get used to putting in at first, and i love that they are marked right and left. However i think it makes no sense to have 2 sizes. i have small ears and now i have a case that's twice the size it needs to be with no use for the other pair, and even if i give them away the case stays the same size and i can't put anything else in it instead. I think it was worth it to purchase but I think the price could be a little lower because even though they send 2 pair, one is not usable, and because it looks like there are some other brands for less.

The comfort level I’ve been looking for
I’ve been wearing ear plugs to help with sleep for years. Prior to about 2 years ago it was infrequent, only when I slept next to a snoring partner or was traveling to a location where there were unfamiliar background noises while I tried to sleep. About two years ago I moved to a noisy city and started wearing ear plugs every single night so I started my search for comfortable ear plugs. The foam ear plugs I tried, and I tried a LOT of different brands (contour, high noise cancelling, for small ears, industrial, you name it) ,worked to block noise but all of them put pressure on my inner ear that ended up making me take them out midway through the night out of discomfort or left my ears feeling sore the next morning. I do have small ear canals.I ordered 3 different pairs to try at the same time I ordered these. Both of the other pair were in ear style, meaning they fit into the ear canal and form a seal. One pair protruded too deep into my ear to even try them out for a night. The other fit well, however the filter was too hard against the outer canal and again put pressure that lasted only about an hour into the night before I took them out. Onto this pair. These are amazing. They are designed to seal the ear canal by basically resting concave just at the opening. These do not extend down into the canal and this, no pressure! They come in a mirrored case (great for travel!) with a large and small pair; I tried the small first and they worked so I have not used the large pair. I have tried the large on so I know that they would work for a backup just in case. These is a little tail that curves with the outer ear to hold in place and I’ve had no issues with them not feeling secure or falling out in the middle of the night. I sleep frequently on my side, and they sit flush enough with my ear to be comfortable. In this regard I think they could be designed a bit flatter, but for someone who has small ears they are still flat enough to use. They also are marked R and L.The best way I can describe the noise cancellation is to put your hands flat over your ears. That is about the level of noise cancellation you will get with these. Not as high as some of the high decibel noise cancellation foam kinds I have tried, but still an acceptable level for sleep for me. No ear plug is going to block all sound. Also love that these are reusable and I can stop buying another disposable product in my life. All in all 5 stars for value to effectiveness ratio.

Not much in the way of noise cancellati
I bought these to have a permanent pair of ear protection rather than the disposable ear plugs. They are super comfortable and feel great, but for me they did nothing to cancel noise. I could hear almost normally with very little protection. I tried both sizes and as far as cancelling out noise, neither size worked for me. :(

Does the job
Always falls out during the night of either one or both ears. Now using a headband to keep them in place, which has been successful. Blocks out the sound of my upstairs *%&$head neighbors which is why I got them. Been sleeping so much better with these. 3 stars because they keep falling out.
