Good Performance and Great Value.
There doesn’t seem to be very many objective, evidence based reviews here – so I thought I’d post my findings to help shed some light on these EBL rechargables. Since Amazon shows both D cell and C cell reviews here, I’ll combine mine here, too. I bought 20 D’s and 16 C’s for my vintage radio collection and a few Mag-Lights I have… There isn’t a real choice for name brand D and C cell rechargeable batteries (as there are for AA and AAA). This is why I chose the EBL D cell rated at 10,000 mAh, and the C cell rated at 5,000 mAh. Duracell, Eneloop, and LADDA do not sell rechargeable D and C cells at all. Energizer does, but these are merely glorified AA’s, as the capacity for both their D and C rechargeables are a meager 2,500 mAh. However, both Tenergy and Amazon Basics do offer rechargeable D and C with an advertised capacity of 10k and 5k mAh, like EBL does. For my testing I used two newly bought XTAR Dragon VP4 Plus battery charger/tester’s. This is one of the best out there as it is capable of charging/testing/refreshing anything from AAA to 18650 (and probably more), both NiMH and Lithium, in four independent bays. Another great feature of this charger/tester is that it’s wide enough for four D cells simultaneously. In test mode, this unit will top off the battery to fully charged, then discharge, and finally charge the battery from discharged to 100 percent. This enables the XTAR Dragon to calculate the number of mAh’s both charged, and more importantly, discharged. The discharged number of mAh’s is more important because this is the performance of the battery in use, or rather, how many mAh’s it “gives” versus “takes”. In addition to the mAH charge/discharge rate, the XTAR Dragon can also measure the output voltage and battery resistance in Ohms. This is only the first part of my testing, as I plan to update this review with future results in a year and beyond. All batteries were individually numbered so as to keep track of which one is which for future testing. Upon delivery of my brand new EBL D and C cell batteries, I ran them through the XTAR Dragon’s test mode. The D cells actual charge capacity varied from 10,000 mAh’s (for six of the 20) to a low of 7,216 mAh’s, which averaged out to 7,801 mAh’s (78.01% of advertised capacity). The discharge rate ranged from a high of 7,707 mAh’s to a low of 6,971 mAh’s, which averages out to 7,287 mAh (72.87% of advertised capacity). The C cells fared a little better. For the charge rate they ranged from a high of 4,546 mAh’s to a low of 4,164 mAh’s, which averages out to 4,303 mAh’s (86.1% of advertised capacity). The discharge rate ranged from a high of 4,553 mAh’s to a low of 4,026 mAh’s, which averages out to 4,203 mAh’s (84.09% of advertised capacity). As mentioned earlier, I numbered all of the batteries (20 D cell and 16 C cell) for future reference/testing. I hope to measure in the future how quickly or slowly the batteries discharge over time (percentage) without use for a year. I also hope to see how quickly the actual capacity degrades over time/charging cycles. As I have not bought or tested the Amazon Basic’s or Tenergy rechargeable D and C cell batteries, I cannot compare the EBL’s performance to them. But I would guess that they are probably manufactured in the same factory, or if not, under similar conditions. As such they are probably nearly identical to EBL batteries for performance, which makes EBL batteries a good value, indeed.

Good rechargeable batteries, from what I consider a reputable brand. Reasonably priced.
Excellent batteries, well packaged in their own plastic container, within an outer box. I have purchased D-Size batteries by EBL before, and they have worked well for many years. The batteries took a while to charge and work well in my flashlight. I would recommend EBL rechargeable batteries. Make sure you have a suitable, high amp Ni-MH battery charger to charge them to their full capacity.

Rechargeable C Batteries
These are good for the lanterns I use on the patio. Cheaper than regular batteries and not going into a landfill.

Work well, I do not have a way to test them...
So far these are working very well for me. I purchased some of the C size batteries and an EBL charger. The charger was defective, but the company sent me a new one. The new one works but the LCD inside of it is shifted sideways and it looks kind of silly. However since this review is about the batteries, let me say that so far I am very happy with them. I am using them in some LED candles. They are the larger sized candles. I had been eating regular alkaline C batteries at a rate of about six batteries every month. I haven't had these in the candles long enough to see how long they will last before re-charging. I will try to come back and update with that information. However, I have used them and other devices in the past and the recharging will save me a bunch of money. Not having to buy six alkaline C-size batteries every month adds up and these should save me over the long haul. One thing to keep in mind, you need a special charger for this size rechargeable battery. Additionally you should know that it does not recharge a Size C battery very quickly. There is no quick way to do a battery of this size. So it can take over a day to recharge the size C batteries. Another thing to keep in mind is that these are 1.2 V instead of 1.5 V. In most situations that will not matter. However I originally purchased these to use in a Meccano robot. Then the Meccano robot eats size C batteries at a rate of about 20 minutes. It is in sane. Unfortunately, if you try to use these in the Meccano robot, they will not power it. The Meccano takes four size -C batteries which would be 6 V. With these batteries you only get 4.8 V. I am working on a special battery pack that would give me five of these rechargeable batteries that would then add back up to 6 V. In theory that should work very well as this type of battery usually has a very very slow rate of discharge until it reaches the end of the charge, at which point it drops off very steeply. With five of these batteries I should be able to run the robot for a long time before recharging. And then I shouldn't have to pay for a bunch of C batteries each time. But just know that it is not a simple trade out. It does take the extra effort to find a way to get another battery installed. I will return with more data as soon as possible.

Good, long lasting batteries
These are to replace a set we have been using for several years and they finally won't hold a charge anymore. We really liked the other batteries so we replaced them with the same brand we had before. They have saved us a lot of money in the radio which has a built-in recharge system

Powerful battery
Batteries charge quickly and when fully charged they hold their power for quite a while. I have used several different types of rechargeable batteries and since I discovered the EBL brand they are now my go to rechargeable battery.

Purchased 6 number of this item with Rs 1499 for 2. From the very beginning not holding the charge properly. After overnight charging it was able to deliver only one hour of service. By the way, I was using them in a radio with AM and FM reception. After one month they became completely dead. Not charging anymore. Feeling cheated. Zero star rating. Don't buy.
