Darice Black Solid Eyes with Washers, 6mm

I looove these safety eyes. I ordered these to use with my crocheted mermaid dolls. I have been crocheting these dolls to sell to strangers, but I have also been creating some for my nieces who are pretty young. These safety eyes are close to impossible to remove once they've been attached to something. If I make a mistake with placing these and decide that I absolutely HAVE to remove one, I honestly have to use my husband's tools and ALL of my strength and great maneuvering to remove one. Through all of this I have personal proof that there is no way my young nieces will be able to remove them, which means I don't have to worry about my nieces getting them off of their mermaid dolls.The eyes are small and black and stick out a bit and are perfect for basic eyeballs for all different kinds of crafts. I have been using these safety eyes sold by the same brand for years, ever since I have been crafting and needing these. I haven't run into any issues with these and would most definitely recommend them to family and friends. I will be sure to return to update my review if I end up running into any issues with them whatsoever.

As some reviews noted, the hole in the fastener is too small. I used small plier to crimp the hole to enlarge it a bit. Once that was done, it was easier to attach the fastener to the eye post. Just don’t make the hole too large, you still want it tight enough be safe for children.

You get what you see, eyes and backs. Some are very difficult to pop together, but that has much to do with their tiny size. (tip. if you have any beads, go take a look at the 6mm beads...that's the size of the head of these eyes). On the bright side, that also means they will not pull apart easily, either! I ordered them as I was making a bundle of tiny guinea pigs (amigurumi), and needed tiny eyes. Colonial knots were okay, but these really set them off. Now I have plenty of eyes for other tiny ami crochet projects.

I had a huge order for amigurumi Hershey kisses for Valentine's day. 65 of them, to be precise.. I usually get a variety pack of eyes for different sized projects, but since these were all the same, I needed a lot of the same size eyes. That being said, these backs are VERY hard to click on. I have blisters on my thumbs from trying to press that many on. I ended up having to heat the backs up with a hair dryer to make them pliable enough to click on. They might be fine for a project here or there, but that many, all at once, were brutal on my fingers.

Arrived a few days late, but I am guessing it was due to the holiday (thanksgiving). So much cheaper than in the craft stores. The product works fine. Saw some reviews saying these eyes were difficult to attach. All safety eyes take a bit of work to attach. These are no exception. I didn't have any problems.Here's what I did: I placed the eyes in my crochet piece. Turn my piece so the eyes are pupil down on a hard flat surface. I put the washer on and used my thumbs to press down hard on both sides of the washer at once. It helps if your thumb nails cut super short, just above the quick. The washer slowly snaps down the ridges on the back of the eye and is secured in place. Viola!

I use these eyes for my amigurumi projects, but they’re impossible to snap together with your hand alone. This is my first time using safety eyes so I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be like this, but I should have paid more attention to the reviews. If you are still considering to buy this, I take a part a pen and use the top half to push down the plastic backing into the eye. Hopefully that helps, I would still order it again considering I get what I paid for and that I can use the pen technique to make it easier.

The plastic was clean, no snags. But I personally find the backs really hard to out on. But that might also just be the small size of them. Good product for the price.

Item (package) was damaged mailing package was intact. I took inventory, and lost 3 Eye pieces Only having 48 pairs and one extra eye. Unsure how the items package could have been damage prior to delivery but I am not happy that it was damaged and now am missing 3 eye pieces.Overall good quality, just check to see if there are any damaged and count the pieces
